Greetings,

I have noticed that Christians as a whole (UR or otherwise) seem to experience the exact same types of health problems that the world in general does. Why is that? Why aren't we leading the world in this area and setting an example?

The Bible gives us many examples of good health and healthy living techniques. Yet, for some reason, we fail to take those scriptures seriously. The net result is poor health and a dependency on the satanic/allopathic drug system that dominates the world.

Not only are these health secrets biblically based, they have now been proven by numerous holistic healers. Diseases of every kind can be cured by simply changing one's diet.

Maybe this should be our next priority after mastering UR?

Indeed, you are right. Ironically, their world famous Loma Linda University Hospital in California not only has become a showplace for conventional allopathic medicine, but is also the headquarters for the "quack busters". They wouldn't hesitate to put their own founder, Ellen White, in jail as a "quack"!

Everyone has their level of understanding regarding health. The SDA was on the right path, but still had a few levels of understanding to go:

So true, Ken, and I'm aware of all that.  I'm reminded of what James P. Hogan said, "It seems a law of history for successful movements and empires to resist further change after the needs that had motivated them into promoting change had been satisfied."  The SDA movement became the SDA church, and now progresses very slowly, if at all.  Ellen White stated that more truth was coming, but the church she helped found seems to keep a lid on it, or at least takes the stance that they have the message in full.  In time, I quit.

I suffer from several illnesses, Hemochromatosis, Cirrhosis of the liver, type 2 diabetes and Bi Polar disorder. Some of these, I would have to say are from past misdeeds but Hemochromatosis in genetic.

I eat healthier now but there are plans to depopulate the earth and that involves poisoning the food chain. Foods that were once good for us become questionable now

Hi Ken.  I've got a member that keeps suggesting the many posts of links to one particular website, giving health advice, etc. is indicating a problem, as in "cult-like behavior".  There have admittedly been quite a few links to the ELM website, and though I may not personally agree with every little detail there, I haven't ever seen the site itself as a problem.  What would your response be to those suggestions/thoughts?  Thanks, James.

Dictionary.com defines a cult as:

1. a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, especially as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult.
3. the object of such devotion.
4. a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
5. Sociology . a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.

A quick look at our Statement of Beliefs would pretty much negate all of these five points:

Our goal has always been to get people to think for themselves - and grow in grace and knowledge, as the Bible instructs. I know from experience that this is a problem for a lot of Christians. The idea that there is more to learn than what they already know is beyond their paradigm. In fact, we now have four different articles on determining where one's level of understanding might be, linked at the very bottom of the Statement of Beliefs page.

There are many articles on the ASSOCIATES ONLINE site, and over 17,000 links to other sites on many different topics. Recommending them as we do would hardly be considered a good "cult" practice. Especially since we have nothing to "join" and are not asking for any money. While we do have a lot of well researched material, we certainly don't claim to have all truth. We are all going through the learning process every day.

It sounds like someone is an unhappy camper. I pray they will open their heart and mind.

Ken, I thank you for your concern but I really wasn't looking for medical advice. I have a perfectly good support system locally here. I do thank you for your concern though. I've tried coming off medication before at the advice of a group I was involved with and it was a nightmare. Cheers mate  :Peace2:

Recently I was sharing a link with a friend on FaceBook.
When I asked him if he had looked at it, he replied,
"I looked at it [meaning he glanced but didn't really read anything] and it looked like a cult to me!"
Sometimes I shake my head, and sometimes I smile for the joy of knowing the Truth.
I never laugh because it's not funny.
I never cry because the joy of the Lord is with me.
(I know that was just a figure of speech about "laugh or cry," but just saying) :thumbsup:
