Glad to meet you Jock, Welcome back :o)

Welcome, and I hope you weren't sick for too long a time!   :friendstu:
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Welcome Jock!
I love this forum (the people on this forum).
I have learned so much from them.
They encourage me.
The give me food for thought.
Glad you are not sick anymore.

Are you searching for truth?

Jock

jbertonbounds, Absolutely, I am searching for truth! I am more of a gleaner than a Bible scholar but I have my piece of Christ to bring to the table, but a WHOLE bunch to learn. I'm not so much into doctrine as building blocks but the things of the Spirit that brings life.

Fantastic!
Never stop searching.
If you ever say, "I know all of it now!," then you will no longer be learning and gaining wisdom.
I feel the same way - I have so much more to learn.
And no, never follow doctrines!
Most doctrines (if not all) are tainted.
Follow the Spirit's guidance.
Follow Jesus example.
Follow God's precepts.

The Father, Yahweh, will shine his light on you!
