:dontknow: I don't know, not ground shaking or anything, but I was particularly struck by this wording "scattered" (or dispersed) when I read John 11:52 this morning.
Genesis 11:6-8
6 And the Lord said, "Look, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down, and confuse their language there, so that they will not understand one another's speech." 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.

John 11:52
51 And this he said not of himself, but being chief priest of that year, he did prophesy that Jesus was about to die for the nation, 52 and not for the nation only, but that also the children of God, who have been scattered abroad, he may gather together into one.

It doesn't say "some" children of God scattered.. :dontknow:

Good point Marie! If that isn't one of the over 100 verses that indicate UR, it should be - but only because it does :laughing7:

Marie, there was not only the scattering from Babel in the time of Nimrod, a scattering we read about in the "Table of Nations" in Genesis.  There was also a scattering of the tribes of Israel after God had had enough of His unfaithful Bride.  These scattered tribes, taken out by the Assyrians (There are still people calling themselves Assyrians in the world - I used to know one.) and the Babylonians, can be traced in history, even though they came to speak other languages and tribal names.  One good example are the Saxons, a name meaning "Isaac's Sons."  If you drop the "I" from the name pronounced something like "I-zack," you can see how it morphed into "Sax(ons).  Other tribes can be ID'd in Europe, Iran, Afghanistan, and many other places, and some can be nailed down better than others.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

Good Find!...also this..wheat sown by God...enemy sows tares in the night.....first

bind all the tares into bundles for burning.....then gather all the wheat in the barn.

I heard that the danish were Dan-ites and that the slew of towns in the british area starting with DAN are because of the tribe of Dan.  :dontknow:

Yes, we are not saved by the arm of flesh, but by the mighty Hand of God, doing for us what we cannot.  That's why it's faith and not works, lest any man should boast.

The tribe of Dan settled in Ireland as the Tuatha de Danann, and in Denmark.  Dan-Mark = "Land of Dan."  The Danes came over and settled in northeast England, an area once known as the Danelaw.  The English eventually massacred them.  So, just as in old Palestine, Dan had two land holdings.

Further:

the Dutch = Zebulun

the French = Reuben

Other tribes are less distinct, but there are many charts around identifying this-or-that tribe with this-or-that ethnic group.  Some are not convincing.
