This may not make any sense but it hit me as being rather important ... somehow.  I know a lot of people who believe in ET.  Some I think see it as a way of taking credit for getting to the salvation first.  This one got me in trouble when I first thought about it and then spoke of it out loud.  All the other reasons for accepting Christian Universalism (short of course of the spirit telling me its truth) have become simply part of the list I use to tell folk why I think the evidence is overwhelming.  This one seems to plant itself in front of me and say, 'to you, I am the reason that would convince you, even if there were nothing else to persuade you'.

It is based on Romans 5:18:  I wasn't asked to be guilty, why do I need to ask to be innocent? I was made guilty by the actions of an other, I had no hand in it what-so-ever, and because of it I will rot in Hell; every believer in ET I know, has absolutely no problem with that.  Now, I see that I was also made innocent by the actions of an other, I had no hand in it what-so-ever; yet no believer in ET I know, doesn't have a problem with that.

I was wondering if anyone else had a reason like that viz  the biggest reason you believe UR.

The Big Reason for me was seeing salvation as a Done Deal.

The inward revelation of the person of Jesus, knowing Who He is and what He's like, this is done by the Holy Spirit.  This is the center of what the scripture, the Ecclesia, and the coming of Jesus is all about:  the gift of the Holy Spirit to all that believe.  It isn't getting along with other "Christians," or their approval of us that is indispensable.  However good it may be, it isn't putting together the right understanding of Bible verses which is the work of God in salvation.  It all works right only by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  The various implications of the doctrine of ceaseless torture for ever compared to what I know of Jesus by personal experience is the surest undefeatable evidence against believing that way.  Just look in His face and you know He isn't like that.  In fact, if you keep looking, you'll be less and less like that yourself, until you finally awake in His image.

It's all about the love to me. If you know God and understand his true love, ET is simply impossible.
Why do ET people accept "God is love" and at the same time accept, "God is eternal torment"
After all, isn't a person what he does and what he spends time at? If 85% of God's time is swallowed up in tormenting creatures he made for all eternity, what does that say about God is love?

I'm guessing it would say it's a lie!  Which may be one of the reasons unbelievers don't believe it.

ET is impossible, but what matter if someone believes you have to ask- I do. I am not a believer in ET.


I simply believe that the love of God is so awesome and His plan so complete and so wonderful, that it is a virtual certainty that EVERYONE WIILL. :o)
