Hello brothers and sisters,

Just wondering... Has anyone received UR, accepted it but after awhile went back to ET?

When I think about ET it's like there is a block in my mind, it's hard to explain but it is almost like my body forbids me going back and being tempted by ET doctrines. I can't ever imagine believing ET whole heartedly again, it seems impossible!

I too, cannot concieve of ever going back. It would be an insult to God.
Yes, His ways are beyond us but eternally tormenting a creature that He created
that started out with two strikes against him is psychotic, sadistic, and malicious.
Definitely not the God of love, mercy, grace and kindness that tells us throughout the Bible:

"Be not afraid" Don't be afraid" "fear not"
"I bring to you news of great Joy -Today in Bethlehem the Saviour was born!!"

I agree with ded. I could never see myself going back to ET. It gave me such agony and stress and a hateful heart. Always frustrated over people who could not seem to understand the gift of Jesus, and I'd get angry at them. It was so backwards.

It reminds me of Zephaniah 1:5 which talk of the people who worship the army of heaven and profess to follow the Lord, but follow Milcom (or Molech), the god they burned innocents to. Sounds a bit like the modern god of Christianity, eh?

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Hell no I won't go.

I think it is because there was always something tugging at my heart when I heard about ET and Hell.  So, I couldn't  believe in Hell.  It wasn't a linguistic thing, or a culture thing.  I couldn't love God and believe, this stuff.  I tried, and maybe this is where a lot of us started:  I tried to believe in Hell and ET because it was expected.

For me, coming to UR wasn't believing something new, it was being allowed not to believe what I knew to be false.  Once that falsehood was allowed to drop, the Truth was allowed to be what it was.  Perhaps it is hard to go back to ET because some of us fought so hard to try to believe it that once it wasn't necessary anymore, the relief was so great that going back would be to re-inflicted that pain on ourselves again; I would rather die than have to knowingly endure a false belief just to please someone again.

SO TRUE  :dsunny:

For me Et is like realizing you have been drinking toilet water, its dirty, muddy and it just pure stinks  :eeew:

And then you realize you have been offering this toilet water to thirsty people (unbelievers) most of your life, and you now realize why they hesitated to drink it, or why they seem even offended by the idea of drinking it

ded2daworld

Good analogy MissZ
So many youtube comments from atheists mocking christianity,
concern God being a sadistic, psychotic because of eternal torture for not loving him.

misszoolander

 :iagree:

I guess that's why other religions such as Buddhism, Gaudiya Vaishnavism etc are on the rise in western culture.

People are looking for something, they are trying to fill something that is void within themselves, but they feel they could never love Yahweh because Traditionalists make him out to be a schizophrenic, loving you one second, then hating you and pouring out his wrath on you forever. Even when I believed ET, I never truly thought I was saved, I was constantly confused by the church. I would look at my fellow church goers and pray in tongues to try look the part.. I latter learnt that I was not the only one faking it! I was reduced to faking because I truly did not feel saved unless I spoke in tongues.

Like I said... TOILET WATER.

I always had a check in my spirit when talking with a "nonchristian", excited about God but not about the outcome.

Some people feel a need to speak in tongues.
I was "taught how" by a preacher that saw me as a number chalked up by him for God.

Say "My momma gotta a new honda" several times.
Alternate with "Tie my new bow tie"

repeat quickly until your mouth cannot keep up with your brain.
Congratulations - you are now speaking in "Modern day tongues"
which is different than Apostle time tongues, but will be enough to convince any congregation
requiring tongues as acondition of salvation that the spirit of God is now in you for sure
when it wasn't before when you only thought you were saved Oy vey the sickness, the requirements loaded on trust and belief. :Peace2: :Peace2:

I am very close to my parents and they believe in ET along with trinity, pre trib rapture, immortal soul, and I am sure many other heresies. Of course as I was growing up I took all of these false doctrines as the truth. Once I discovered UR I studied the bible to prove what I believe and found out that almost everything that was taught to me was a lie. Now the frustrating thing is that I can't share UR with them. They are in their early 70s and refuse to believe that they bought into all the lies and false doctrines of the apostate church. So I can never go back to believing the lies. Its sort of a package deal when you believe lies you end up believing all of them not just one or two.  :2c:

Now I'm not sure I ever want to go to a restroom again.  I'm moving to a country with no running water.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  May I just encourage you with the knowledge that your parents are in the palm of God's hands anyways, and He will take care of them ... He promised.

Misszoolander, may I, for the sake of my stomach, please ask you for another metaphor.  I've had a talk with the neighbor's dog and he doesn't see the problem but, ... actually the fact that I had a talk with the neighbor's dog, could be a bigger problem ... never mind.

I spoke in tongues for years, and not once did I get a new bow tie ... talk about feeling left out.  I'm not even gonna talk to my mom about the new car she didn't get.

sheila

you guys post reminded me of how God set my step-mom free from 7th day adventists.

she had a dream where she was in a house and the kitchen sink was all cruddy with lime/rust etc.

the faucet was all rusty,corroded...she said it was really nasty.  and she was thirsty, she tried to get water from the tap

but old rusty water come out,not fit to drink

.  There was a door and she walked through it and there was a wonderful sparkling clean faucet and kitchen....

this dream was prophetic..because shortly after she found out about the salvation of all mankind and

accepted it!

sheila

ps..........she had a stroke several years later. And Rose and my sister, Pam joined the seventh day church.

Jenny attended sometimes and was around the church members alot.  I was a little apprehensive

that she was going back into it.  But one day she said...I will fellowship with them..and not pay attention

to any denominationalism.  Even after suffering two strokes I do not think she ever went back to et.

She left this world this past Dec... :HeartThrob:  we used to have some wonderful times,Dad,Jenny, Rose

and I, sitting around the kitchen table for hours, sharing in the spirit and the wonderful Goodnews

of the salvation of all mankind.!!!

Sorry VB,

I know it's disgusting...  :sorry:

I grew up where ET was believed and I never thought to question it for many years. But later I kept trying to draw the line between people going to heaven and those going to hell and just couldn't figure it out, and even came to think, well maybe He's just going to save everyone. A little late I blundered into Romans 5 and reading it carefully saw finally in verse 18 comparing the all in Adam to all in the second Adam and started getting excited. Then on the internet I found where someone else believed that way and I was instantly converted. Since then everywhere I read I see that this is the real bible truth and there is no way in tarnation  I could go back.

But I am sure on this forum there was someone that said he had believed in UR and later decided it was wrong and gone back to his old beliefs. Of course I am sure his beliefs are only brain deep and not what me and all the rest of you have experienced.

I hear you Bushy. I can't fathom knowing a God of unconditional love, whose very being is love, then turning to a God of conditional love(which isn't real love at all)and sadism.

Can you fathom most of Christendom falling into it, many centuries ago, and staying with it as a "Christianity 101" doctrine ever since?

Yes, "for the God of this world has blinded their eyes" - all 3 of them
I get into it sometimes with my ET wife asking, "Why would you want to worship
a conditionally loving being when that same being is going to sadistically torture
everyone else in your family, your sons, my family, 90% of our friends - how can you trust and love a God that would do that?"
Then it's "we don't know but I'm sure he has his reasons for what's going to happen." (She really doesn't like to think about it and never uses the word torture but "torment" or "anguish"

Lazarus Short

Well, at least your wife has not problem with the sovereignty of God.  You could use that as your "foot in the door."

It can be hard explaining UR to someone who does not want to study the bible for themselves.

I've come across a few people like this, all they do is ask questions, after questions. They want to believe, how ever lack of motivation has them asking the truth from others, rather then studying the word itself. The more they ask, the more confused they become, because they can not see the beauty of UR in the bible for themselves.

Its a sad thing that so many people go by testimonies and "visions" others have eg 23 minutes in hell by Bill Weise, but can not take the time to look at the word itself. People assume the bible is black and white, that it was written in a way so everyone can understand it at face value, but I believe studying Gods word is not about taking things at face value all the time, its about perseverance and not just settling when you see something you don't understand. The unpardonable sin is a good example, how many Christians actually think that there is a sin that can not be forgiven ever by our Lord?

I have come to the conclusion that the main reason people either fall away from UR or do not accept it is because they trust more on what other people say eg. Pastors, "prophets that have had visions" etc
They will not study, read, think about the bible because they are afraid of becoming confused. As soon as you say something they do not understand they often get highly defensive, and start accusing you of twisting scripture to suit your cause.

IMO we are all pastors in the making, God can and will use as all, but first we need to arm ourselves with the word.
