I've been seeing that all over the www.  I'm expecting another Y2K, but some Christian writers insist it is an important date having to do with prophecies in the Book of Enoch.

I know one thing for sure about Dec. 21st 2012, it's the first day of winter.

I know I read all the prophetic stuff there was and KNEW beyond a shadow
of a doubt that Christ would return within the next 5 years.
Of course, that was 45 years ago - no wonder I'm somewhat jaundiced concerning the "very soon"
return. Well, not actually the return. I'm hopeful about that. It's just I'm not
overwhelmed with anyones idea of when the return will be.

If you can examine the original evidence, the actual stone into which the Mayan calendar is carved, it becomes obvious that 12/21/12, the end of the world, was really the end of the stone.  The date was because they came to the edge of the stone they were working on.  They just ran out of stone.  It might have been later if the stone had been larger.

I like to use INFO.com.  It gives the result of a number of search programs;  Google, Yahoo search, Bing, and, is it Yandex or Vandex?, Ask and Open Directory...I remember they used to mention askJeeves and others...and was it 14 or 18 other search engines then?

sheila and Laz..you talking about a great deception that would put fear into humanity by faking things (signs in the heavens) such as alien sightings, strange/frightening images in the sky, perhaps even a simulated return of Christ, etc.?  Some believe those things are being planned, and the technology is in place, as well as some test runs already having been done.  All with the hoped result of duping people into agreeing to take the mark and bow to the one world government.  I realize some believe (and claim) almost anything..but I wonder if there's any truth to the rumors.  Discernment and guidance is in order, for sure.

Google has recently intiated very sophisticated profiling tools, for the purpose of guiding advertising to individuals who use their browser- thereby increasing the amount of ad clicking from each user therby increasing their advertising revenue (paid by the click).
many people are concerned about tracking and invasion of privacy issues. Some speculate that the government could co-opt such technolgy to profile internet users- or already has. For instance, if you want to eliminate certain kinds of people/groups/activists you just put a watch on the sites built around their interests and gather information on them until you have something you can use to shut them down or prosecute them. For this reason some people are up in arms over google. Me, I got nothing to hide, so I still use google, but as a matter of principle I am looking for an alternative that works well without the intrusion, and when I figure it out(if it is available) I will switch.

I know where you're coming from, jabcat.  I was told by one of the guys in my Baptist Sunday school (back in KC), that they had friends who worked on hush-hush projects who told them that if they had seen what they had, it would threaten their faith.  Something big is coming down the pike, and when I read your post, something clicked in my mind.  I did a www search for something from my SDA days - the "Omega" deception.  I had read about it years ago, and it's nature is still not understood, except that it will stand on the foundation of spiritualism, which in turn, is built on the foundation of the immortality of the soul.

I have put forth immortality of the soul as one of my four props of Hell.  I think as Universalists, we have a leg up on other Christians in so many ways.

   I find things that make me contemplate..ask through prayer etc. there are carnalnpeople hiding out

and making preparations to survive physically what they sense is coming.[they will hide in the caves

:thumbsup:  Plz. share more that would edify.  I think we need to be careful and not gullible, i.e., not swallow everything that comes along.  HOWEVER, that can go either way - either sticking our head in the sand and being vulnerable, or believing and chasing every conspiracy theory that comes along.  IMO, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.  Be aware, find out, be watchful, while not chasing every "little messiah" and joing their group, etc.

One of the things i believe the Lord has shown me over the years(let evryone weigh and judge for themselves) is that God is not reacting to Satan. It is actually the opposite. God has His own timing, as the Lord declared- no man knows. We can discern the seasons by the signs of the time. God is the "timekeeper". He is proactive, it is the adversary who is reactive.

Some of the signs of the end I am looking for:

The Bride coming down out of heaven:

to me this is the church manifesting in the fulness of what is written about it in Ephesians, He presents her TO HIMSELF, sanctified having spot or wrinkle- a worthy representative agency of His love bearing children of light who walk in the light.

The man-child coming out of the woman:

A company of overcomers (those who kno their God will be strong and do exploits, those who lead the many to righteousness will shine like the stars) walking like Paul and the apostles walked, "and the Lord worked with them confirming the word".

I believe it is these things that will provoke the wrath of the adversary and lead to wholesale persecution of the church

"and I saw the souls of them that had come through great tribulation and they cried out from under the altar, "How long O Lord"

I see the dawn rising as God arises in His temple, "Arise O lord to thy dwelling place, thou and the ark of thy strength" that temple of living stones, "fitly joined together" ---for it is time for judgment to begin at the house of God with the elders at Jerusalem... "The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight will come suddenly to his temple and He will be like a refiners fire and a fullers soap and He will purify the sons of Levi....."

Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, unto a mature man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ....

I think the enemy prefers not to play his hand "in the open" until he has too. As long as the church is in the fog and impotent he will deceive and lie and harass, but when God determines that the time has come for the army of dry bones to stand and come together sinew to bone and flesh to sinew- "Come O wind" Ephesians four- but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

I believe this is as sure a prophetic sign of the end as any of the geopolitical signs that Christians look for. When this begins to happen the enemy will be "cast down from the heavens"- i.e. he will manifest on earth>"in the open" because it is when the church flourishes that the light shines from the city set on a hill, the lamp upon the lampstand shining light "into all the house-the whole world. He must do murder to put that light out but it never works because the blood of the saints refreshes the fire of God that consumes the adversaries.

I say, look to the heavens, the Bride is coming, a fresh new outpouring of the Holy Spirit- a latter rain, so to speak- the light shining from the east to the west- so shall the coming of the son of man be, and He will come first into His temple so that His Bride is adorned for the wedding feast-

In the last days says the Lord the mountain of the house of the Lord will rise above all the other mountains.......

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN." To go back from the New Covenant into the world before the advent of the substance that cast the shadow in the Old Covenant of good things to come is not the understanding I glean from the relevant scripture concerning what's next in God's plan.  There is only ONE Olive Tree with ingrafted, reingrafted, or waiting branches  So, if there is any replacement, it is the New Creation Man:  immortal, one with Christ, enlivening spirit, exchanged for the Old Creation human:  mortal, Adamic, soulical individual dirt pods.  The complete emergence of this New Man, or, as scripture calls it, "the manifestation of the sons of God," this is what we are headed into.  The image of God appears in the sixth period.  That this is leading into the Millennial day of rest means we are in the finishing work, God's bringing forth of many son's into glory.

Revelation 5^8-10, Concordant Literal...
8 And when It took the scroll, the four animals and the twenty-four elders fall before the Lambkin, each having a lyre, and golden bowls brimming with incenses, which are the prayers of the saints.
9 And they are singing a new song, saying,

"Worthy art Thou to be taking the scroll and to open its seals, For Thou wast slain and dost buy us for God by Thy blood. Out of every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 Thou dost also make them a kingdom and a priesthood for our God, And they shall be reigning on the earth."

Whatever foretastes there have been, our Forerunner has made a way and opened a door no man can shut for us to be a Royal Priesthood that reigns in all the earth.  It has to happen.  God's first house is moved out of because we're moving into the new house of greater glory.  The Old Adamic creation loses, not because of condemnation, but because it has been superseded by a superior creation.
