What a Mess!

* I just joined the forum. I read a thread started by Jabcat, or something like that, called What a Mess, but I can't find it now, so I thought I'd comment here.
QuoteJabcat said: There are thousands of denominations and hundreds of Bible translations.  They/we obviously can't all be right.  The scriptures mean what they mean, no prophecy (a divinely inspired utterance or revelation) is for private interpretation.  When God spoke/speaks, I don't believe He is vague or unsure or doesn't know what He means.  Yet humanity, including Christendom, is scattered all over the place.  And I've thought, "WHAT A MESS!"
* Since the kind of discussion I'm most interested in seems not to have been occurring here for a spell, I wanted to say in response to the above quote that the situation is much worse than a mess. People are condoning unjust war and inhumane conditions all over the world. I feel that the main obstacle to peace is majority rule, which makes it easy for people of influence to manipulate the masses to do whatever they want. And war and oppression appears to be what they want.
* I haven't heard Universalists point out the problem with majority rule yet, but it opposes God's will and Biblical advice. We're supposed to come to unity on all matters, whereas majority rule prevents that. It allows majorities to impose their desires on the whole people against the will of the minorities. It allows expediency to trump wisdom. And I believe it allows for unjust war and other abuses of power.
* I believe teaching Christians et al unanimity, or unity, instead of majority rule, would benefit everyone and would help allow regular Christians to become open to Universalism. It seems obvious to me that most Christians still have lots of resistance to Universalism, but I think they would be much more open to learning unanimity, because it helps any group or congregation etc to achieve unity and harmony among its own members. What group wouldn't appreciate that?
* I'm eager to do all I can to help end the insanity that continues to grip humanity so long after Jesus' perfect example and that of the Apostles and early disciples. I'm sure many share such sentiments. And I'm eager to work with any who do.

What you said regarding majority rule, that is why our Founders made us a Republic and not a <cough, cough>  Democracy.

I think that sounds like a good approach.  Makes sense.  I wonder though if it's certainly something to pursue as much as possible; yet realistically, won't be in full effect in this age that GaryA calls an age of "mixture of truth and error"?
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Luckily the US never has been involved in any war or oil, ahum, ahum, peacekeeping missions. Neither does any republic elsewhere in the world has innocent blood on it's hands. Never enslaved people for monetary gain. Or simply has been hell to live in.

Back to reality. Kingdom, empire, republic, etc are just hollow words. It's corruption that really matters. The intention of the leaders (behind the scenes).

King Jesus or president Poetin?

Just saying....
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

This age??? Every age I would think. Didn't Jesus teach the truth in an age of error? Didn't Moses pen down truth in a world of errors?

I mean it's not yet when all this "comes together".  Maybe the next age or even the one after that.  I.e., the time of this being an overall reality isn't here yet is my view - not saying we shouldn't seek it.

"Thy kingdom come...."

Quotenot saying we shouldn't seek it
How many have found it?
The handfull of URs? The URS who also have disagreements among themselfs. (they can't all be right)
I think the narrow gate is far, far, more narrow than most think/hope....

But still I don't understand Gary's quote
QuoteGaryA calls an age of "mixture of truth and error"?
If he means the age from Adam until now I agree. If not I disagree because, imo, error has been around (almost) from the point Adam was created.

I agree majority rule is wrong.  As good as the intentions ever start out to be it ends up with power corrupting.  The only correct government is one of unity, connected to the head which is Christ.  And I think we are entering or or are in the next age where this will begin to be manifested on the earth.  How long will that take for all powers and authorities to be subjected to Him?  I have no clue.  But I think we are about to see it take place.  The word is out there, the Spirit is moving.
