Think Tank, I thought of you with this.  Seems like something you'd enjoy.

I was reading thoughts on "did Jesus laugh?", and came across the following post by Jerry, on Focus on the Family website.  He said;

"I commuted to college for four years right out of high school.  I was a christian, and tried to spend some time in prayer during those thirty mile drives.  My dad had a saying that somebody could be ugly as a mud fence.  One day I was contemplating that in Isaiah, the savior to come wouldn't be somebody that was handsome. Well, the thought crossed my mind and then I said out loud, " I guess you were ugly as a mud fence " and instead of being struck by lightning, I heard a roaring laughter in my car like I just made the God of Heaven, laugh his head off at a silly joke.  I know God has a sense of humor!  He made all of us, after all!!!"

The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Haha! I love hearing stories of God's humour! Anyone have any others?

:cloud9: HA! Sounds just like Him. I have shared these before but one day in my flower beds when my kids were young, I found some worms when I was planting flowers. I hollered out, "Anybody want some worms? (they fished)" And before anyone could answer, the Lord said, "I do!", with the understanding coming that our soulish nature before we know Him, is as Jacob (who He called a WORM).

Then another time, my daughter was only 24 months old, and she knew what "no" meant, and usually responded appropriately, but this morning, she was being obstinate and willfully doing just the opposite. So I was stressing over, is she too young to spank, ect., and when I finally reasoned it out that she knew what no meant, and we are accountable for what we know, just as my hand was getting ready to connect (for the first time ever) with her bottom, He spoke in an amused tone, "Tending your little garden?" LOL

And again; I had gone to my bible study He had me teaching, and I had had the worst 2 days battle with loved ones, was sick from it, ect., and I was trying to get out of my emotions and into His Spirit during our prayer, so He could use me. In my mind, I cried out to Him, "Lord, help me! I've been going thru hell these last two days!"

He spoke, "Yes, you have," again with a humourous tone, with the understanding that for 2 days/the past 2000+ years He does cures and casts out devils (walking thru hell for 2 days). I cracked up, and the mess lifted off me. Blessings....

Hehehe. I have heard that Jesus was extremely humorous (I know He still is, but I mean in the Bible) but it's mostly lost in translation. (And cultural differences.) I wish we could "get it" today.

Life is a joke. Then you die for a helluva long time :Egyptdance2:
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

......one day I was totally exhausted and aggravated...cleaning the house and caring for my four grandchildren........and He said....'He causes the desolate woman to

be a joyful mother of children and keeper of house"  I looked up to heaven and said 'youv'e got to be kidding me" ....couldn't help chuckling,though....

    ironic humour.... :laughing7:..

I haven't heard God audibly, but a few times words or complete sentences have strongly appeared on my mind, completely out of nowhere, overriding all my other thoughts.

Once I was thinking about how it's not always so easy sharing my faith with the world, 'cos for most people God is either imaginary or an eternal torcherer.

Then suddenly I got the following: "And that's exactly why you should try to share your faith more."

Now that was an excellent reply if there ever was one.

:cloud9: Sounds like Him to me.  And I have heard Him a couple of times so "loud" it seemed audible, but mostly He speaks in a still (peace) small voice = a thought that you KNOW is not your thought. My  :2c:

Yep that's what I always "hear". The quiet "thought".
