Jotham

Hi all, i came to this site today after a fellow poster at another forum mentioned an article that i found quite interesting...so i decided to dig in more here.

As way of intro, i'm a Sputnik baby (born just after the October 1957 launch of the first Satellite into space), happily married for the last 25 years to my "rock" and best friend (i say that with all honor and respect to the big ROCK Jesus Christ). We have two wonderful kids, both serving in the US Air Force. (a P.S. note, my wife and I homeschooled our two kids, our oldest daughter all the way through H.S., and then the Military canceled their test program to allow homeschooled kids in, and our son wanted to have the option of military, so we sent him to a private Christian H.S. where he graduated last June and is now also in the AF.)

I was introduced to Christianity through my mom and dad who raised me in a Catholic setting, rebelled at age 18 and got deeply into the Occult and New Age movements, then was whacked upside the head by the Lord in 1982 at a home gathering and began my adult journey at that time.

In 1993 i began to really study the word outside the time spent in the Organized Church (i was on several worship teams playing electronic wind intruments and synths). It was during this time i came to believe in the fulfilled view of prophecy and many of my long standing questions were answered with just me and the Lord as a guide. Then sometime in 1999 i hooked up with a group of ppl online that held similar beliefs. It was at that time i also created an online 3D virtual chat-world-church. Also at this time i began wondering just how effectual the Cross was...thinking that it surely must be big enough for the whole world... so here i am today digging in deeper and hopefully with a mind open to some more "Whacks upside the head" by the Lord.

Blessings to all,
Thom

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I spent a good part of the afternoon reading many threads. And Laren gets the honor of pointing the way from another online group i've been a part of since sometime back in 2000 or so. . .

Out here in the sticks my family has been meeting occasionally in living rooms since about 1994. And besides my pots of coffee with a handful of brothers at a local cafe' a couple times a month, my wife and i are out here alone (opposed to being part of some larger organized "church"). Soooo, much of my fellowship takes place here in cyberspace. Which is why i created that 3D chat world so long ago; sort of an extension of ppl in time and space.

Thx again. C U around the forums.
