This verse, isn't in the Book of Revelation, but I've always wondered exactly what Jesus meant when He said in answer to the disciple's question "where will these things happen?" and Jesus said "where there is a corpse there vultures will be" (Luke 17:37). It was in my reading yesterday morning and today, so I prayed to understand the meaning and this morning it seems to me like it means - where there is a nation floundering/unstable there will be black birds of prey..

there are two feasts....the wedding supper of the Lamb,Rev 19;9  'THESE ARE THE TRUE WORDS OF GOD"

and the Great supper of God inv 17,18...God says...'Come gather togather for the great supper of God,so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals

and mighty men,of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.......all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh

sinfel flesh of men...rulers/kings/generals,mighty men/horses/riders..flesh of all people....signifies what is born of spirit is spirit, what is born of flesh is fles[sin/error]

nations/yes/individuals,also...for instance the 'holy wars' muslim/Jewish...Ireland,catholic protestant....a time when every man's hands is against his brother

is a time of flesh...not the spiritual unity of true words of God/wedding supper of Lamb

Beloved Servant

But praise God:

Job 28:7-8;

There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:
Proud beasts do not set foot on it, and no lion prowls there.

Jesus is The Way.

Interesting take on it.  I've never seen that one before.

I can see how some of that could fit with the context of the core of the message, but not all of it . .. Matthew 24, no different than Revelation itself, dealt with the events before and after the collapse of the religious system that peaked in A.D. 70 but in that event, birds /vultures (not literally) weren't eating or devouring kings and generals, the kings and generals were devouring God's chosen nation .. .(eagles)

I've always seen this not to be vultures but eagles . . .and the carcass is not carnal flesh, but spiritual . . .in that Jesus stated that we must eat his flesh and drink his blood . .. and these events he was speaking about, they were actually connected to who he was and what he did.  The religious turned on themselves and started civil wars . ..but what kings and generals did the birds, the vultures eat in that picture?

Where will this take place?  Where the carcass is, the eagles gather together . . .where the body of Christ was, eagles, believers, followers, disciples gather together . . .

They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall rise up with wings . . .as eagles.  The "where" was Jerusalem.  The HOUSE of PEACE.

CHB

I agree Nathan. I think the body is Christ and the eagles are believers, saints.

The eagle has landed, they return 10 thousands times ten thousands to execute judgment on all ungodly.

Nathan

In one word . . .any idea what form that judgment would come in?

1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

John 15:22
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

Jesus comes to us to reveal our nakedness?  Hmm . ..

Is that it?  he just says "your naked" and that's it?

They will hide like Adam and Eve and maybe will see themselves as beasts, and will turn on each other and kill each other, making a large feast for the wild beasts and birds of prey of the earth.

well, the judgement is on the ungodly..but there is a mystery of godliness and a mystery of iniquity.....all mankind receive free gift have godliness

and are of God. TOL..in His image and sons/daughters....the godless ness..is same as man of lawlessness/man of sin/son of perdition/tokogae corrupt image

of their father/liar/murderer offspring of viper spirit

SO when He returns in judgement..it is to do away with the man of lawlessness with His breath of His coming/evidently the death of the old Adam and

the raising up in Glory the new creature in Christ

Matt 13;41   THE SON OF MAN WILL SEND OUT HIS ANGELS AND THEY WILL WEED OUT OF HIS KINGDOM EVERYTHING THAT CAUSES SIN

AND ALL WHO DO EVIL.  Thus, we see the false prophet[leads my people astray] and the beast[lower animalistic mind of the serpent/devouring of

one anothe]r/those who receive the mark 'can NOT live' for the mark of satan is what hampers them from spiritual life in God.

note the judgement of the righteous and wicked..for the things done in the body...this is a judgement of spirits, not man's flesh...

the demonic spirits have done much injury to the flesh/corrupt it bring death to it..the Holy spirit/clothes/feeds gives life of Christ to man's body

so the judgement affects all of us intimately, but is not the judgemnet of man per se. He says 'I judge no man" but He does discern the spirit in man

and dispatches the goat spirits Isaaih 13;21 2 Chron 11;15 & Lev 17;7[Babylon/cage of demons]

So . . .your take TT is, Jesus comes back . . .reveals our nakedness and in his light we turn on each other and the wild animals on the earth come eat us . . .while . . .what ? Jesus stands by and watches all of this?

again, I think this is being taken too literal . . .these things are symoblic of the beastly nature "within" us.  The reason I asked if that was it is because I don't see the light of Truth coming just to reveal our nakedness so that we'll turn on each other . . .I think his light comes not only to reveal but to purify and even then, I'm not so sure it's about revealing our nakedness as much as it is revealing his purity.  Just being in his presence causes our iniquity to fall away . . .being "washed" as white as snow . . .white signifies purity.

When God wiped out all men save the 8 including Noah, it was  a picture of God wiping out the man in men.  2 Peter speaks about the fact that there is another purging that comes to us not through water, but through fire.  1 Corinthians 3 talks about that same fire and it's not destroying men, it's destroying what the carnal MAN has built in men . . .but ALL ARE SAVED . . .there is no destruction of men.

13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.  14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

So yeah, I'll agree that the light comes . .. I'll even go so far to say that it comes in the form of fire . . .not natural fire, but spiritual as it's purpose is to SAVE US by the act of PURIFICATION.
