I'm heading off to get things ready for church today, but this has come up in me recently and I want to put it out there while it's still fresh in me.  I have been in a bit of a debate with another person on another forum who is very much against UR and in our discussion, I came to ask a question he continually skirts around, so I thought maybe those of you who have similar conversations could ask the same question and relay back what their responses were.

The question is this

Why would we be told to love our enemies when God is going to torture his?

Not really a hard question is it?  Yet they won't answer it . . at least not the one's I've been asking.

He also loves justice.
He loves the sinner so much that they (sinner, God) are seperated for eternity as the sinner desired.

That the kind of answers I've read.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Excellent question, Nathan.

Why told to love our enemies?

The answer is Mat 5:45

So that you may be the sons of your Father in heaven; for his sun gives light to the evil and to the good, and he sends rain on the upright man and on the sinner.

According to some Fundies it's because hatred is a sin, and we are supposed to have "clean hearts". In other words it's just about bettering our own spiritual condition and that's all.

Of course, this still leaves a big question unanswered: if God is going to hate forever, how is He any better than the ones that He's going to endlessly torch?
Behold, I make a few things new.
