Hi, ESTAD, I wonder if it has a deeper meaning.
Becoming a bondslave means blood on the doorpost.
Just like there is blood on the doorpost at passover.
Do you think there is a connection?
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

ESTAD also Est. A.D.

established after death (I know AD doesn't mean after death)  or for the sticklers: established in the year of our Lord

That said, I'm mostly a believer. But I very often have my doubts. My faith is really not that strong.

No one's faith is strong. That type of faith is just weak, thin, religious fig leaves.

Jesus is the author of True Faith and it is HIS FAITH that redeems humanity.

Was Jesus's ear that was nailed to the door.
In Leviticus 14 with the cleansing of the leper the blood precedes the oil of the Spirit, so that's why His servants are crucified with Him, according to Galatians 2:20 and Galatians 6:14, Romans 6 and elsewhere.  Lord Jesus was nailed to the Cross through His wrists and feet, but when we come to Christ it's merely our ear that gets nailed to the Cross so that we'll not only stick with the Lamb always, wherever He leads, but also enjoy the oil that accompanies the blood. That's why it's not a contradiction that we're crucified with Christ, nevertheless we live, yet not us but the Blood of Christ and the Oil of Christ that's dripping down from that Cross we're nailed to into our blood and being, since our greatest members that offend that have to be amputated is our manner of hearing.  In Isaiah 35 first the ears of the deaf are opened and then nothing unclean passes over the highway of holiness.  When our ears are nailed to the Cross, His Spirit Passes Over Us and the Destroyer isn't able to destroy our lives because of the oil that's being applied to our lives that keeps the flies, or the lord of the flies, from nesting in our scalps in the 23rd Psalm and we enjoy green pastures, walking beside still waters in Psalm 23 and Isaiah 35, and every enemy as our footstool.
