This question arises from amandas post here http://www.tentmaker.org/forum/index.php?topic=1343.0

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - (Gen. 1:26-27 NIV)

God made us in HIS image - we have the ability for all the same emotions and feeling (on a smaller scale) as writen below:

Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. 6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation."

We also see that He calls himself Jealous.

My question to you is this - we speak about being born with the Adam nature and this is what makes us want to do bad, yet I see that for us to know good we must know and have the ability to do bad. For us to know love and feel love we must have the ability to hate.... etc.....

So it is quite obvious we where made as God intended us.

Those who say that we are born sinners - where do we get that, can you provide the scriptures and can we discuss  :dontknow:

PEACE

Taffy

The END result is HIS image...Adam being the spiritual man= Christ...the male and female BORN in HIM = Christ and the Church.....Him in us , Us in HIM..being MADE whole\complete.

we then see He causes sleep over ADAM..the woman being born of his BONE,..this too is a Type of The Chuirch being Born from the Blood of HIS side spilt at the cross.

you mentioned born of sinful nature....

The  were now male and  female ( seperate, not YET one.) BORN  NAKED..Naked is a Metaphor commonly used to depict sinfulness.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked

Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

they were Ignorant to their nature

2Cr 5:3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

For mine I see they were born to sin , but were ignorant to it , the Tree of Knowledge of G and E is likened to the LAW ..as Paul said without Knowing the LAW, he would not have known what SIN was

Rom 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

QuoteFor us to know love and feel love we must have the ability to hate.... etc.....
yes, ..the Knowledge of Good and evil IN itself saves NO one...it just leads us to UNDERSTAND who LIFE is...as a Tutor ,until reality COMES in HIM.

for mine..Lots more hidden than we first see in Genesis LT..

Isa 43:7 [Even] every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I [am] the LORD; and [there is] none else

Maybe being naked is not a bad thing, but what "meaning" we attach to it (covering).  Knowledge of nakedness by the "law/tree of knowledge of good and evil" results in fear, shame, hatred (fig tree covering), self judgment.

Covering the nakedness in LOVE, unconditional love (blood of Christ) results in joy, peace and righteousness.  Total acceptance of self, others and God.

Maybe to be clothed in Christ's righteousness is to be naked (human) and unashamed.

Maybe we don't have to physically die, and raised in a new body before we can be whole.  Maybe we can be human (naked) and covered in LOVE now

just some thoughts.

laren

Also interesting, is the "last Adam", Jesus; was crucified naked.

Got to be some interesting symbolism there.

Christ died FOR the flesh , all flesh MUST die before the spirit CAN LIVE, for mine Bro.

for the FLESH profits NOTHING.

Christ paying the ultimate for all nakedness.

being MADE WHOLE\complete\PERFECT is accomplised IN HIM and By Him..

OUR nakedness was always going to be COVERED.

Amen Taffy,

I can't help but praise HIM that his covering of complete acceptance, love and grace has been poured out, covering all.

Christ is the LAST Adam.  For me, this means you and me are not Adam.  The cross forward has changed things forever.

The hate, pride, shame, guilt etc imo; is not because we are bad, inheritantly sinful, but because of who we believe we are.

Coming out of "false" beliefs about ourselves (one of we are not accepted, not loved, not adored, and cherished) is definitely a process, a process of coming to trust LOVE.  Trusting who Christ declares us to be.

Knowing Him, is to know LOVE; eternal life.

Laren!

Seems like some good thinking there, brother.  Woe to them that "cover" with a 'covering" but not of MY Spirit!  This whole thing brings us from one "covering" to
HIS! Little by little, til we are fully clothed..........I have of late seen that the ROBE
of Righteousness that He clothes us with called a robe, is really His People, or the
City of God, coming down ......

We may not have it "all" right, but I sure believe we are on the right track!  God
see us and teach us...........no claim to know it all............this is deeeeeeeeeeep
stuff!

Taffy

Woe to them that "cover" with a 'covering" but not of MY Spirit!

AMEN RL.

Mat 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Mat 14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

Mat 10:26  Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

Mat 10:27 ΒΆ What I tell you in darkness, [that] speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, [that] preach ye upon the housetops.

Blessings

This is happening layer by layer - I have flesh yet the Spirit still moves.... I have flesh yet the Father still can flow through me to help set someone free, I have flesh, yet the Father still totally loves me and I am complete in Christ.....
It is not about some future time - God says TODAY is the day......

I just think we are always "waiting for" or "when we" or when He finally.......
or the line I hear quite often "There is nothing good God sees in you except His son"

No - this is not true.... THIS IS NOT TRUE :sigh:

We say no flesh can enter the Kingdom yet the kingdom is NOW, when I walk in the Spirit I dwell in it, and hey, I got all kinds of flesh  :dontknow:

What does it profit us to continuously talk about how retched we are or our flesh is and nothing in us is good and God cant look at us.............. I just have not been shown that by my Father.

On the other side, I know my "works" are worthless and I know that the more onion peel he peal off the more I see who I am and the freer I become......... and who am I?

I am a daughter of the Most High God, Totally LOVED NOW, despite my flesh or sins or good works -- I AM HIS DAUGHTER :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:
and KNOWING this seems to be what suddenly takes the layers off  :girlheart:

AMEN.  I believe it!!

What is so amazing is when we start seeing ourselves through unconditional LOVE, who we are, amazingly we start seeing others through those eyes too.

I posted on the other "our true nature" link that the Calvinists teach a thing called 'total depravity' ('tis the T in the TULIP), that is, in humans there is no good thing at all.

I argue that if depravity were the complete constitution of our nature then being 'set free' would be a bad thing, as it would unleash only evil on the world :mshock:

That's a tough one Byron <scratching head> as you would have to put Christ in Adam as having a part in eating the apple.

I have often wondered about this.

Yes, God's breath was in Him, even during the bad part...

How often I have pondered the scripture saying the "Adam was not deceived," Byron.

The Lamb (Greek:Arnion) slaughtered before the foundations serves the soul/woman/Eve until the Holy Spirit comes to quicken and the soul begins to recognize the immensity of the Servant King's sacrifice.

It is always the "Arnion slaughtered" that is pictured on the throne in the Book of Revelation and there is great depth to be plumbed in that ..... all the way back to the original garden scene in Genesis.

I have always loved the concept of the Arnion from the moment I saw it.

firstborn888

I've noticed that by the time we get all the way through to the revelation (and the ETers begin flaunting their pain w/o remedy terrors therein), the sweet little garden and those tender moments (and how it all ties in) are all but forgotten...

:cloud9: Here's something He gave me about the nakedness. He used to use me with word of knowledge when I was in the churches. I know it can be unsettling sometimes to have God speak into your life, but I saw genuine fear on a few, and they couldn't wait for it to be over (prayer gift operation). I couldn't figure it out, since He does not condemn, and there is nothing in my demeanor that would cause it.

He told me it was this. Just as Adam ran and hid himself from the Lord, when He knew His covering/Christ was gone, so too, does "Adam" still run and hide if he is not in Christ, when he "hears" the voice of the Lord today. It was amazing to see. You'd think "Adam" would run TO the Lord, but that's not what happens. Blessings to all......

HE doesn't come to spy out the "nakedness" of the LAND!

HE comes to cover it!  With His Own Self!

All boils down to "trust" .........knowing HIM as LOVE!

But people have a hard time giving away what they have not received.

And if they have received it, they recognize it, when it is being distributed thru

another.

I know what you mean ........but LOVE will never fail!
What if Jesus unleased the fullness of HIS Love, thru His body ?

What if behind the veil, His LOVE started "manifesting?"

God can do "anything!"

"Adam, where are you"????? God knew exactly where Adam was.... God was saying, why are you running and hiding.

This is what WE do.... WE RUN.... And Jesus came and said "Come back, the Father wants to hang out with you"

You are right, He is looking for fellowship!

Now if that isn't the truth of the matter!  Unbelievable almost.  Isn't it?

I just read Cardinals words and the Holy Spirit truly just ministered to me through this. The situation I am in is with someone who is hiding from the Lord. I know the Lord is using me in this person's life..I know I need to remain in this situation for however the Lord wants me to. All I know to do is just pray and love this person...I know I am to love this person unconditionally, however I know my fleshly emotions get in the way. This person and I at times have breakthrougs in communication, but right now we are working through some trust issues. As I read cardinal's post it became so clear to me this person is running from the Lord, and that is why this person has such a hard time being transparent.

Cardinal

:cloud9: PTL it helped you. I have found the only thing you can do is minsiter His unconditional love to let them know they are accepted in the Beloved FIRST, then He can begin to peel back the layers of false coverings/fig leaves, after He has established Himself in trust. The flesh of all, male or female is His "bride" and He will not allow anyone to do anything in the Spirit but "touch" her tenderly, and caress "her" with His words of love (Song of Solomon). Religion has "beaten and raped" her; no wonder "she" runs from His voice.......Blessings to you....... :HeartThrob:
