micah7:9

For me this is square one for my learning for understanding.
Paul only speaks of "a spiritual body" here 1Co 15:44  it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body; there is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body; (Find no mention at all about "spiritual beings" or "beings" for that matter.)

Eph 4:4 one body and one SpiritBody
Joh 10:30  I and the Father are one.'

G4983
sōma
From G4982; the body (as a sound whole), used in a very wide application, literally or figuratively: - bodily, body, slave.

Body G4982
sōzō
From a primary word σῶς sōs̄ (contraction for the obsolete σάος saos, "safe"); to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
Spiritual G4152
pneumatikos
From G4151; non-carnal, that is, (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (daemoniacally) a spirit (concretely), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious: - spiritual. Compare G5591.
Spiritual G4151
pneuma
From G4154; a current of air, that is, breath
Heaven G3772
ouranos
Perhaps from the same as G3735 (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension heaven

Perhaps there is a discomfort with being the body of Christ and want or need to have ones own seperate body.

1 corinthians 12
4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14For the body is not one member, but many.

15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17If the whole body were an eyemicah?, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20But now are they many members, yet but one body.

Ok Ill quit for it is but another verse of the Bible that I must remove along with Gen.2:7 now I need to remove  Eph 4:4 one body and one spirit, according as you were called also with one expectation of your calling;"
For it is pointed out that is not so. thank you

Quote12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

This is why I think the Christ is a hologram.  Probably deeper than that, though.

Sarcasm aside, it seems to me that our good friend Thinktank is not saying there is no "oneness" of the body, only that this oneness does not annihilate individualism.

It isn't a wickedness or carnality to want one's own individual body, or identity even while being in the scheme of the Whole.  This is Christianity, not Buddhism.

QuotePerhaps there is a discomfort with being the body of Christ and want or need to have ones own separate body.

There are many problems with this idea that, to people such as myself and seemingly Thinktank - are monstrously gross.  At least to my thought, it is monstrously gross even in implication that I (Lefein) will have no being, or individual existence of my own, but shall merely be absorbed into the "Christ consciousness".

This is probably what Thinktank and I, are gathering from your post.  (Thinktank, if this is not what you've gathered feel free to correct me. ^^)

I would also like to point out ahead of time that it is not a poor spirituality or spirituality of poverty to want 'real bread' (a real body for each individual) over 'pretend bread' (just being "one" with everyone in a metaphoric body).  Even if 'pretend bread' is supposed to satisfy the soul, real bread is real bread, and real bread best satisfies the soul.

One does not have to act like a miser, or put themselves into poverty, or look forward to less, or look forward to poverty and call it "wealth" in order to be a truly spiritual person.

Kind of like a school of fish, Lefein?  All individuals, but they act as one.

Like building a house. Christ is the corner stone, the stone that supports the entire structure, while every member fits neatly into the framework of the building. Some stones have seemingly harder jobs than others and must carry greater weight, but they will be rewarded with greater riches given by God, but yet all will be rewarded as it pleases God.
