I was reading a thread a while ago talking about what people felt should be the proper order of books in the Bible as it relates to Time written, to the Jews, to the gentiles, according to the mystery.  I believe WhiteWings was involved in the discussion if that helps.  If anyone could point me to that or give your thoughts or point me in a direction that would be great.

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

It seems to be more logical that way. Patterns all over the Bible but the numbers of books are just random....

I read the whole treatment he gives in the first link. It makes sense especially since the current number of books is 66.  I would definitely recommend reading it. The connection between the ot books and the temple is amazing. The intricateness and design of all the elements of worship the tribal positioning the story in the zodiac the explanation of golgotha. Wow

WhiteWings

Also nice about his books (and most articles) is that he tends to back up every claim with lots of historical evidence (he was an historian by profession)

Hi Red (and possibly CHB)

Let's summarize that book in this thread.
I'll start with the first 70 pages

Page iv:
The protestant canon is the correct one but the books are ordered and divided wrong.

Page 9-10:
Jerome ranks Paul above other apostles for political reasons.

Page 24:
Paul said the message of salvation should go to Jews first (Romans 2:10; 3:1-2)
In Galatians 2:9 he states James, Peter and John are the pillars of the church.
They go before me Galatians 1:17

Page 31-34
In Jewish society older people are always given the honor of speaking first (because they know most)
Job 32:1-9 is an example of that. Elihu waited until all elders said their thing before he did speak.

Rank overrules the above. In Acts 23:1-5 Paul apologized for disagreeing with someone who turned out to be a high priest.
Kings and rulers are inferior to prophets.
Prophets are inferior to Moses.

Rank is also derived from last name/family blood line. Paul (Benjamin) is always mentioned after the Levite Barnabas Acts 4:36.
Both rank under James (1st), Peter and John (3rd)
Obviously this ranking system also should be used to place the books in their proper order...

Page 56-64:
Josephus Aaronic Priest (of the first rank) wrote the whole word of God was in 22 books.
Jubilees is a commentary of the dead sea scroll sect.
22 is a special number:
- 22 letter in the Hebrew alphabet
- 22 books in OT
- God created 22 things in 6 days. Adam was the 22nd creation.
- 22 Generations from Adam to Jacob/Israel. That's 22 generations to a spiritual creation.

Psalm 119 is divided in 22 sections of 8 verses.
Every first verse of a section starts with aleph. Every second verse with bet. and the last (2nd) with Tav
The above is called an Acrostic. It clearly stands for completion/perfection

However there are incomplete acrostics.
Psalms 9 and 10 (originally this was 1 psalm) have 7 letters missing. The opposite of perfection.

Page 64-68:
The original NT had 27 books.
22OT+27NT=49 books ==> 7x7=perfection/completion.
The current 66 books are the number of man...

That brings us to the famous 666. The letter value of the image described in Daniel 3:1 is 4662 --> 7x666

BTW the completion indicated by the number 49 is proof Apocryphal Books don't belong in the canon.

I know there is a Bible in its original order thats available.  I'm not sure if its associated with Dr. Martin though.  I was thinking of having one made.  theres a recent thread about the Concordant Literal being bound.  I had already been thinking of having a concordant bound into the original order.

Looks like an interesting translation CHB. -> soil-man

However, I don't think we will see finished copies of the TEB in bookstores until 2012-2014,

This Bible is not the one of ELM. Are there example verses?

* Discover the most likely year and day of Jesus' birth!
* Explore the exact chronology of Jesus' crucifixion

Interesting subjects for sure but I hope there is no doctrinal push that pollutes the whole transaltion.

QuoteThe Author, Fred Coulter (FC), changes several passages to fit his own personal interpretation of the Bible. Notably, he alters certain pasages pertaining to the nature of God, Tithing (in which he believes in), and Law keeping (more of FC's doctrine).
QuoteFC's typical tactics are to change a passage, then try to justify it in a footnote. FC even has his own pecular creation ideas and starts right off with this "footnote" principle in the very first passages in Genesis. This is a man who has publically stated that he knows what has happened to Mars' supposed (now) lack of water. He stated that God threw Satan to the Earth and the impact was so horrific that it blew the water off of Mars (Good thing it didn't affect the water here on Earth I guess). I bring up this point to illistrate that this type of "theory" causes the author to change the Bible (creation in this case), to fit his own belief system.

Read all the reviews if you are considering this translation!

I agree with what David said here about this Bible.

http://askelm.com/doctrine/d090101.htm

I use the KJV because I grew up reading it. Now that I am familiar with most of the mistranslations and know about the right order it should be in, I find it easy to read and understand. I am pretty positive we will never have a perfect Bible, man is just not capable of producing one. You might find that one is better than another but they will always have mistakes in them. I do believe it is very important to know about the right order of the books.

Sure no 100% perfection.
But being closer to 100% has it's advantages I think.

So this ELMs translation? http://originalbiblerestored.com/

You are right that it is better to have one that is the closest to the truth. Don't know which one that is though.  :dontknow:  Right now my thoughts are the Concordant, CLNT is the closest. I don't know if James Tabor will ever finish the Original Bible Project that he started way back when. I think he does have a lot of it finished but who knows when it will be complete. I can't remember if the books of it will be in the right order or not, I do think that is important. I started out helping with the financing with this Bible but got discouraged with the whole thing and quit.

The Psalms, in ancient times, were divided into five sections and labeled as follows:

The Genesis Book deals with Man, Psalms 1-41
The Exodus Book deals with Israel, Psalms 42-72
The Leviticus Book deals with the Sanctuary, Psalms 73-89
The Numbers Book deals with the Nations, Psalms 90-106
The Deuteronomy Book deals with the Word, Psalms 107-150

From the list above, we can see that Psalm 76 is part of the Leviticus Book of Psalms,
which deals with God's sanctuary, or Temple. Psalm 76 specifically deals with the destruction of
the enemies of His sanctuary. It ends with the statement in verse 12, "He shall cut off the spirit of
princes; He is terrible to the kings of the earth."
