Oh wow! It's great to see you back!  :myahoo: You left shortly before I joined but I've been reading here for quite a long time and to me you're simply a part of things here.  :happyclap:

Yes, yes, yes!!  Oddly enough I was just writing you this post, ww, claiming you were forcing me to confer with 18 year olds.  I thought maybe guilt would work.  :laughing7:  God is good.

The true story of the battle of Chernobyl

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiCXb1Nhd1o

Radioactive fallout [from Chernobyl]... greater than 100 times the two combined bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

ww, if you would come back I might have someone to talk to about Japan.  As it is, most Christians don't seem to care much about the suffering in this world.  So now I must confer with the 18 year olds, who still care, and are willing to be witnesses.

What's wrong with an 18 year old?. Man looks on the outside but God looks on the heart, from the mouth of babes his word flows strong, babe and wise together make Gods people stronger.

The technicians are 'dead' already. They stayed to fix things (and failed). The dose of radiation they received was many times fatal.
However it's still not clear to me what the radiation levels outside are.  know they are high but of what type? Many material has a half life of only 8 minutes.

Chernobyl really exploded and radio active "carbon dust" was injected in the atmosphere. Japan is far less dangerous. But the problem is that the Chernobyl area was uninhabitted compared to Japan.

Also Japan would be caught in winds and that wind drifts towards the USA. Unless enough people pray the east of usa could be in trouble with radioactivity.

WhiteWings

That depends on the halftime of the radioactivity. Half life time (or whatever the term in English) of 8 minutes means nothing will reach the USA.
But basicly we know nothing.
The pro nuclear energy camp only posts positive news. according to the anti camp we all died a week ago.
Unbiased news. What is that?

Reactor number 3 contains plutonium.  Half life for plutonium [the amount of time it takes half of it to decay] is 245,000 years. :sigh:

It's not what it contains; but what escapes. According to some sources what escapes right now has a half life of a few minutes.
Somewhere I have a good link. Can't find it right now.

For now read this article: http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/japanquake/8225380/japanese-nuke-crisis-takes-dangerous-turn
Just to show not all radiation has a huge half life.
Unfortunately that does no good for those who have to work there....
