Hi Travis, welcome!

Have you considered that God's desire is that souls will be saved as well?  Does God fail at achieving His desire?  That is what orthodoxy teaches.

It has been on my mind to start a thread on the question Lefien asked, where in the Bible does it say what the gospel is?
Travis responded with John3:16 but, Jesus did not come preaching John 3:16, so what is the Gospel-Good News?
One thing I know is that knowing that one human brother or sister that will spend a neverending amount of time in a place that will cause that brother or sister to scream in pain from a fire that will continuously burn their bodys has no witness of GOOD NEWS.

Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.

So did this good news the shepherds heard include the fact that many billions of people were already burning forever, but 'good news' you can be saved!?  Would this bring great joy for all the people?

I think the simplest definition of the gospel is simply 'good news'.  And the best good news is the idea of all people being restored, reconciled, and saved.

Travis, have you studied a bit on what universal salvation is about?  The 'eternal damnation view' of all these verses you have presented has been debunked in many many articles.  There are even varying interpretations - all of which have nothing to do with eternal torment.

It might be wise to do a bit of reading and see how these verses can fit with universal salvation.  There have been many studies and articles done on this, a good start would be by going through the scholar's corner here on tentmaker:

It is unfortunate, and sad that people are more concerned about being afraid of Hell, than they are about loving God.

Just who are we reverencing, fearing with reverential awe here?  Hell, or Love?

With what Spirit have we been endowed?  The Spirit of Fear?  Or the Spirit of Peace?

Alas!  We call on the name of God, and out of the spirit of fear, and the fear of Hell liken him more to Molech than Yeshua.  Raising up an idol in the Holy of Holies, a god who burns his children, passing them through the deadly fire to be a sacrifice for the appeasement of his bloody sense of justice, never to come out; Tear down this Molech children of God, and turn back to the loving Father we know he is.
