Hello all.  My name is John.  I found this forum while looking around the internet for resources in order to learn how to experience the presence of God.  I've been reading the New Testament slowly, maybe a chapter a day.  I've noticed that when I've finished reading a each chapter I experience a wonderful warm sensation in my chest and head that could be best described as joy. It feels really good and not something you'd want to stop doing.  Kind of like a mild drug or something. So I've been wondering, is this God that I'm experiencing after reading the bible or is this something else?

The joy of the lord is my strength.

If reading the bible gives you joy you are experiencing joy in what most people call a chore. So well done  you are being blessed by God, keep getting high, I think God wants you to read more.

Pray for remembrance that you are ever in His presence and pray it never ends.
You'll miss it when its gone.
He will woo you back with the sweetness of His wine.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!  More happened just last night after reading from the New Testament.  Before reading I asked God to help me experience His presence as much as possible and I was rewarded! After reading I felt the warm feeling move from my chest down into my arms.  My hands were tingling and after a little while I felt a sensation of what seemed like pure love enter my forearms.   It was not a specific love like you might have for an individual but rather a general idea of love like the concept of love itself. Kind of hard explain but if you remember Valentines day as kid your this might help.  Anyways, while I was enjoying this wonderful sensation, I think God may have actually spoken to me.  A sudden thought raced through my mind. It said, "Do you know what this is?". The question seemed almost rhetorical and left me puzzled for a bit.  But I think it was referring to the fact that I was experiencing God's love for us all as humans.  What an experience!

Jesus is always speaking to us, for He is the Word.
Now we pray that we may hear Him through the din of our earthy experience.
His peace opens our ears.

Indeed, He LOVES the ENTIRE CREATION... for HE created it... and called it GOOD... and SO LOVED it that He sent His WONDERFUL Son, to recover it in its ENTIRETY!   EVERYTHING... now ...THERE is a "tingle" or two for us all to enjoy!

Peace new brother... enjoy the site and share with us, as you are moved to do so...  :friendstu:

I enjoy it when I feel "hugs from God".  Its always like a really hot, warm sort of burning beneath the skin in my chest, but not a painful kind, but like "a holiday hearth upon my sternum".

YES!  My only fear is that it will stop somehow. I hope it won't.

Remember that you are always in His presence.
