Beloved Servant

I can control my body with my mind, for instance, I can walk over to the table and pick up a pen.

And my body can control my mind with hunger and thirst.

Just two loose and unimportant examples for what's to follow:

Why is it that I don't feel as in touch with my spirit?
If anything, what can my spirit do and how do I do anything with my spirit?
Is it just something precious in a gift box that has never been opened?

If we are body, soul and spirit, well, what good is a spirit if I'm not even aware of its capacities or how to access them.

Lefein

Your spirit is the source of your life, and sentience.

Beloved Servant

I'm aware of that.
I'm not looking for definitions or head knowledge.
I'm excellent at research.

What I'm trying to convey is that it seems that I'm only two-thirds full.
That there is a full third of me that is not accessible to consciousness.
How do I do access it's ability now?

micah7:9

Beloved you know that answer.  Joh 5:30  I, cannot be doing, of myself, a single thing,—Just as I hear, I judge; and, my judging, is, just,—because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Lefein

Beloved Servant; you can't really "access" what you "are", you can only "be" what you are, if that makes sense.

:cloud9: The times I have been most aware of the spirit of God within me has been in fasting, praying for others (both in person and not), and dreams and visions. If you want the gifts activated, fast and pray, that's what I did. I'll fast with you, if you like; there's always strength in numbers. It is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. My  :2c: Blessings...

Thanks, Card, but that's still not it.

I guess it's my unique experience He has me in right now and I'm unable to accurately express it.

Using another metaphor: I feel like an eight-cylinder but only running on six.

Or better, I'm a Corvette stuck in traffic!    YEAH! that's it!

I wanna go, go, go but there is something keeping me back not of my doing or in my control, but boy — I'm ready!

Cardinal

:cloud9: In that case, it sounds more like maybe He's getting ready to set you free from the law of sin and death? Also, a spiritual experience and results in you being so quickened you literally take off running. You go thru an "emptying out" before that, for lack of better description. Our mutual acquaintance of old, I heard he ran 7 miles before he could stop. Whatever is going on, I know it's for His work in you, and will be amazing.

He that believes in me, out of his innermost being shall gush forth a fountain of living water, this spake He of the Holy Spirit, whom all those who believe on Him are to receive, but the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

He that believes in me, out of his innermost being shall gush forth a fountain of living water, this spake He of the Holy Spirit, whom all those who believe on Him are to receive, but the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

I think maybe....

I experienced death with Him when I died unto the world and became alive unto Christ through repentance and faith towards God, (by grace through faith, the gift of God)

I experienced burial with Him beginning with baptism and continuing onward in progressive sanctification (mortifying the deeds of the flesh, and renewing the mind through the washing of the water with the word and by sanctification by the Spirit)

I experienced resurrection with Him as His life began to rise up in me through all of the above (declared to be a son of God through the resurrection of the dead, the crown of life given to those who persevere under trial, the fruit of the Spirit)

I think, in order to experience ascension with Him, I have to set my affections more fully on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God, and less on the things that surround me and vie for my attention, maybe a Garden of Gethsemane experience that involves a deeper pressing into all of the above. I think, that then, the flame will descend upon the acceptable sacrifice...... "because Jesus was not yet glorified".

If we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified with Him.

Maybe I have passed by the bronze laver at the entrance of the temple  and passed by the table of the bread fellowship and the lampstand of enlightenment, but I haven't yet embraced the golden altar of incense, the blood of another spotless lamb upon the altar(maybe my best hopes and dreams)- so that I can join the ministry of intercession within the veil, within the cloud of glory.

I know He loves me, but I believe He is calling me to a deeper letting go, and I am finding myself weighed in the balance and found wanting, in my day to day experience as a disciple.....

so I really don't blame the "church" anymore
or anyone or anything in my life
God is waiting on me-
calling me to press in

"Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. "He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him. "So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth."
(Hos 6:1-3)

HELP ME LORD, HAVE MERCY, QUICKEN ME PLEASE

I hear a voice saying "Come up here".

Woe unto me, I am a man of unclean lips...................

Please pray for me my brothers and sisters, I need it, John

:cloud9: Amen, brother, I will pray. And let us pray for one another as we all need Him to move us farther into Him.  :HeartThrob:

Last year I had a dream/vision of unseen hands picking me up like a stack of firewood and placing me in a huge wooden square thing, with a top and a bottom. I knew it was press of some sort. I looked it up online and found the design I saw matched a biblical era wooden winepress. I believe this is where the body is right now, and I can tell you from personal experience, it has NOT been fun so far.  Blessings....

I can see your press....and feel it too! Thank you, and yes, let's intercede for one another........

Rev 14:18  and another messenger did come forth out from the altar, having authority over the fire, and he called with a great cry to him having the sharp sickle, saying, `Send forth thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, because come to perfection have her grapes;'

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

I think its the soul that cannot fathom the spirit. For your spirit is already perfect, washed clean in the blood of the lamb, but the soul needs to be renewed with the renewing of ones mind, by dwelling upon holy things and the word of God. Our spirit wants to do great and mighty things for it is empowered by God, but the soul has it's fears and it's own ideas about life and where it fits into the scheme of things, it takes hard work and dedication to reprogram the soul to align it's desires with ones spirit. For the spirit believes it is a superhero, but the soul is often programmed by the world to be mediocre and content with lack.
