Where do you go to be with others that are UR?

Hi all,
I am new to "UR" but not new to the idea of "no hell", etc. That is what I have always believed deep inside even when I was a "denominational christian."
I read arguments against hell a long time ago and was in total agreement.
I went athiest for awhile...not being able to stand "rules, judgement, hell, etc." and for other reasons for a few years.

So now I think I have found a group in which I finally fit in.....I can believe the God of my understanding here, it seems.

I'm excited to be coming back from an athiest stance and to actually feel God again and to realize He never left me.

So in all the excitement, I wonder....IS there such a place I can go to worship with others that are like me?
I know UR definitions can really vary..(Yes, I read the stickey's).
I have found that so far, THIS board has the version of UR that I agree with.

I have no desire to step into a church every Sunday and listen to sermons of Hell. Heck, I don't really even think you have to belong to a church at all to have a true relationship with the Lord. To me, it isn't even IN a church...it's within our soul and hearts.

But in all the excitement, let's just say if I did wish to gather with others once in a while that are among the same thinking.....is there actually UR churches?
I hate politics and so forth, but I would be willing to give it a shot and at least go and see how it feels. If I found myself feeling the same political what-not, I probably would not stick with it.

Is there such a place? I have never sought out a UR church exactly and didn't know if that was even in existence?

Christmas is upcoming....what brought this on is that I was thinking it would be nice (for the first time in years) to actually be able to go to a service somewhere and take my children.

Unfortunately, there is not many places unless you want to start your own fellowship. The reality is, UR is pretty fractured right now, it has a lot of different interpretations and many doctrines that are a mixture of where they used to come from. So Pentacostal's who became universalists, have a pentacostal universalism view; while a Catholic who became a universalist, has a Catholic universalism view; etc. So you will find that this diversity, is what keeps us seperated and unable to assemble.

Yes.......good post Craig......and then you have the Unitarians......or the Unitarian Universalists (UUism).

It's interesting that both Unitarianism and Universalism trace their roots to Christian Protestantism.

Freebird.....I can relate so much to your post, it really is nice to be able to share with others face to face........this forum is a great way to share thoughts and learn a lot even though it's not really face to face.
