I am relatively new to UR and I have a question that I have been struggling with and I need your help please. When I think about God as ALL loving I feel really good but when Adam took the apple and disobeyed God he was not happy at all. He stated that humans would now end up as dust like they begun. He also spoke about the pain we would endure.

Now that doesn't sound very loving to me. I need some assistance getting my head around this as I do believe Jesus has reconciled us all but why did all this happen in the first place if God is all loving?

Thanks for your help everyone! :)

:cloud9: Look at your own children (assuming you have any)......do you want them to only love you for what you can give them, or grow up to know and love you for what you are? They had to experience what God was NOT, to appreciate what He IS.

As for being returned to the dust, that's really not a bad thing, with the motive of the heart I believe He showed me He had when He said that. Dust is the smallest particle of something, and combined with water, it forms a cloud. He said to meet Him in the cloud, and He said those that He fell upon would be ground to powder (dust again).

He fell upon them/us on the day of Pentecost and He's been breaking up the fallow ground of hardened earth (-en vessels) ever since, with the intent of making us a cloud with water (Spirit) He can be seen in. Blessings....

I believe there are many Biblical nuggets that indeed show us that God is working all things for good, that He will vivify all, reconcile all, is working a Plan of the Ages that will come full circle and will have been a perfect plan.

Sometimes though, down deep, when the doubts creep in, that's when I personally have to just kick into 'trust mode';  knowing He's wiser, greater, and beyond any comprehension my mortal mind can have.  Even when I don't understand it, the little bit of faith I have tells me that God is good, and all His ways are good - whether I can fathom them or not.

He's the Father Who gave His beloved Son, the Good Shephard that laid down His life for His sheep.

God bless, James.

I believe the Fall of Man was ordained.

For God shut up all into disobedience, that He may show mercy to all.

We need to learn about wrath, pain, darkness and hell in order to be able to fully appreciate love, alleviation, light and heaven.

I believe one of the most joyful things about Heaven is you'll be able to look back upon your life and state "It was one Gehennom of a ride but thank God I eventually made it".
Behold, I make a few things new.

Misunderstanding of God's love is what happens when we look at life with a finite mind and veiled eyes.

I compare it like this . . .if you live in a house with a basement, you tell your kids to stay out of it because they could get hurt.  Kids, being kids, as soon as they get the chance, they burst through the door, fall down the steps and break their leg.  So now, there are things they used to be able to do but now they can't.  Do you blame the parent for the child breaking their leg?

In the garden, there was a door Adam and Eve were instructed not to go through.  There was an order of spirit and flesh that needed to be left alone.  Should they go through that door, should they alter the alignment, they would cripple themselves, but keep in mind, they'd heal eventually.

So what'd they do?  Eve fed Adam . . .big mistake because she represents the soul and Adam represents the Spirit.  Once the spirit received from the soul, the aligment was altered.  With the alignment being changed, spirit no longer was predominant in them and immediately fear and shame manifested.  They'd gone through the door of the flesh.

So rather than God handing down judgment, I see him as a loving Father giving them understanding of how things were going to be now that they've entered into the flesh.  In "this" realm they've chosen, man's identity is now going to be through the sweat of his face, through his natural labor.  And the woman, for any life to be birthed from her, great pain and suffering is now going to accompany that.

Our spirit labors because our mind wrestles with the birthing of life in us.  The serpent . . .the carnality that lured the mind into the mess in the first place, God placed emnity, he put in an alarm system between carnalism and the mind of man so that each individual will have to now make a conscious decision to over-ride conscience when doing ungodliness.

So no, I don't see God as being mean here, I see him as a Father with a son who's had a life-altering experience and not for the better.  He's explaining to him some of the changes that they are now going to be enduring in their lives.

We are BEING MADE into the image of God. This takes a lifetime of learning good and bad. When all is said and done we will be like him knowing good and evil and how to handle it, now we can't.

My son said something the other day that made a light go on in my head. The formulas that are fed to children taste really awful and I said, "how can a baby stand to drink this stuff"?  My son said "because that is the only thing they have tasted and to them it doesn't taste that bad because they haven't experienced any thing else yet. Now, I am older and should be much wiser but words like this makes me wonder sometimes??  I said, hey, "this is an answer as to why we have so many experiences of good and bad in life, we have to experience both good and bad to really understand God and become like God".

micah7:9

I personally have nothing against dust nor my body returning to it.  I have been taught as I read the Bible that it was the breath of life that was breathed into man and man became living soul, from the dust of the ground.
I am not discouraged by death, Im told that Heb 9:27  and as it is laid up to men once to die, and after this--judgment,
Now then, if we are readers of the Word, then death is what comes before  the judgement...1Co 15:54  and when this corruptible may have put on incorruption, and this mortal may have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the word that hath been written, `The Death was swallowed up--to victory;
1Co 15:55  where, O Death, thy sting? where, O Hades, thy victory?'

There is much talk of "soul sleep," "sleep," "death," "dead," "spiritual death," is death[the expiring from this life (a dying life I might add) is that much to miss? IF WE BELIEVE that we when we die[expire] (our spirit) goes back to the one who gave it, is this a sad thing? I think not.

The memory of who we were is in those we have left behind, I pray that my memory is a smile on a face or a giggle from a small grandchild when they are shown a picture of me..if I have not left that...then I am truely lost.
