An idea for the forum?

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I was looking through the forum after I'd read some of the articles on the main site; articles like Law Versus Grace, and such, or the illegal tithe.

But when I was reading through the articles, I noticed...they make the point quite clearly for setting the right direction, almost like a compass.  But where is the ship?

Christianity is a relationship, and relationships are full of practical things, friends help each other after all, and not just in the philosophical, or theoretical sense of emotional support.

I propose, a forum section specifically devoted to practical advice on how to live out the new law of Grace; as a way to do the following:

A: Combat, heal, and restore the damage caused by Law/Grace mixed traditions, and teachings.

B: Edify the believers by a walk together, bolstered by sound practical advice, and Godly doctrine (doctrine in the original sense of the word, not the current sense) on how to live out, and through Christ work out our Salvation, manifest the fruits of the spirit, live the life, study, and be blessed, and a blessing from glory to glory.

C: Practical ideas, and joyful ideas on how to celebrate our freedom in Christ, especially ideas on how to share that freedom by being a living epistle.

Nice.

Do it here. :Sparkletooth:

1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

It seems a little "general" though, lol...no pun intended.

I was thinking something with easy access to the wealth of practical knowledge one could provide.  But...I suppose it would work...

Sounds mucho better

So, are you suggesting we might re-print the Bible here?

Not to sound blasphemous, but just reading the Bible won't give you a victorious walk.  You have to apply it, and private application can only do so much.  The body of believers is there to edify, and to share practical, sound, well tested advice and ideas is a good way to edify.

While re-printing the Bible might be a good idea, and certainly all forms of practical edification should be rooted, grounded, and bolstered by scripture, the use of those scriptures is more important than their written presence, especially since that written presence is able to be used in non-scriptural ways (see the dark age church, the tithe, mixing of law/grace for example). :)

A great many Christians like me for instance, have been ever presented the scripture through doctrinal lenses, and those lenses are hard to take off, let alone take off to walk more clearly in the way of Christ.  The Holy Spirit is in us, and as 'us' we are a 'we', and to be a 'we' means we share our abilities, and our walk.  The forum would be a way to provide a means to see how to walk, free from the doctrinal glasses, seeing through the sight of God; clean, traditionless faith.

Please understand...I'm mostly agreeing with you.

If reading Scripture won't give you a victorious walk, how much less will NOT reading it leave you dilapidated.  If the wise won't get it, how much less the stupid.  When you say, "The body of believers is there," as much as I would like that to be so, it too often really isn't.  You just about acknowledge the same.  It is very frustrating at times, not the least when I have to recount the reasons for the present state of apostasy in what is commonly called The Church, though I think it better to distinguish that as Babyon, for what it does more than what it says.

To actually be in one another's presence, "addicted to the fellowship of the saints," may mean separation, to sit alone in preparation asking, "why?" and, "What do You want of me?"  Besides, there's not much room in a 10 cubit x 10 cubit space.  We're shut out of the main Sunday morning "service (?)"  I went to church, but "The Church" is not on the program.  They're an unbiblical priesthood servicing their enabling audiences, a closed loop.  Instead, we are to function as royal priests to the rest of the world.  They must have human leaders.  We wait upon the very present ever living God in our midst.

There can be some fellowship online; but, it has severe limitations.  "To the hungry soul, even a bitter thing is sweet."

There is a difference between reading; and studying, and applying.  There is an even greater difference between reading; and corporate study, application, and sharing.

Don't forget, that while the present day church has fallen into the Traditions of Men, we must not be like the Pharisees also who put the Letter above the Love.  Do not forsake the assembly, pure religion is helping orphans and widows; it is not merely 'reading' the letter.

I will however note; I never said do not read it, or do not use it.  I pointed out that just reading it will not give you a victorious walk.  If the wise do not get it, behold for God in all of his might reveals it to babes, the unwise, the foolish.

I ask with all due respect and kindness that you would not hinder the equipping of the saints, and the edification of the believer's practical purpose, as given by God, to his corporate body as well as the unique individual - a purpose given that the body should help to achieve.  Not the least with divisive emphasis (correct me if I am wrong, I can only go by what tone I can gather from your post) on reading the letter, only reading the letter, and never allowing the body in any form to assist movement of a member, out of fear that Tradition may appear again.  A hand cannot grasp, if the arm will not lift itself to aid it, and God did not give us a spirit of fear.

The idea I presented is not by any means the typical Sunday building.  It is a think tank, and a storage place for practical fruit, applications of the word, and creative ideas on how to be an epistle; to be shared amongst the believers who being new to the freedom of Grace; IE: the shackles of Tradition hath been broken; do not know how to apply this new freedom outside of their doctrinal lenses.  There is never any shame in asking your pastor how to apply the scriptures to a situation even in the realm of their Traditions, certainly there should be no shame at all to ask a free, grace filled, royal priest, and coworker in Christ's kingdom for advice, and practical fruit; We most of all, being full of the Holy Spirit and Grace should be bearing the most fruit out of all the believers!

We are indeed to function as royal priests; the priests ate the food that is shared with them, a priest did not go out into the temple courtyard and grow his own patch of garden, expecting God to bless it so he could eat the fruit of it by himself.

We do wait for the presence of God, but don't let it be an excuse to frustrate the sharing of fruit amongst the body.  Elijah may have been fed by God sent ravens by a brook - but Elisha was fed by a widow.

I am not entirely sure what you read from my idea, but I will assure you that it was nothing along the lines of resurrecting the typical church building in a digital setting.

With God all things are possible.  God took a few loaves, and a few fish, and made a feast worthy of a king's army.  I will not dare to say that just because fellowship is online, and limited in the natural, that I will give up on sharing practical fruit amongst the body of Grace indwelt Priests and Kings.
