Everytime I look up to some christian celebrities, ie) Bob Larson, Benny Hynn, etc..
All I hear is give us some $ and we'll call blessings on you.
Larson will charge you 500$/hour to exorcise you with his silver cross and holy water.
I'm so frustrated at these guys, 1st they us the name of our God to make money.
2nd, they do so by extorting the poors, the sicks and the weaks.

I cannot understand how these men can even dare to mock God that way, how can they sleep at night?

Sorry if any of you had any respect for these guys.

I pray God will protect those getting caught in the nets of these sharks...

May grace abound even more . . .

Deu 5:11  'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

Name - 1. designates more than the external person; it tends to express his basic character, his personality. We might say it is an emanation of the person himself. 2. authority of, expressing attributes, in acknowledgment or confession  of   (New American Bible Dictionary & Vine's Expository Dictionary).

To take Gods name in vain is to express His character, authority or attributes in a negative way.  See any relationship to what they are doing?

Call me crazy but I actually like Benny Hinn, to a degree. Whether what he does, is giving God glory is debatable.

I would prefer him to be less focused on money as are most of these big time preachers. He's better than some of them though, I guess.

Cardinal

:cloud9: Benny is annointed by God, no question about that. I have gone to 6 of his crusades over the years, received the completion of a healing at one of them. But GOD healed me, not Benny. You get 20,000+ believers praying and asking God to heal people under one roof, and healing is what is going to take place. If not, God's a liar.

Also saw a 10 year old boy healed of leukemia, who had been brought in on a stretcher with his grandmother. His grandmother was a believer, his parents were not. He got off the stretcher and ran around the coliseum. We were sitting next to them and got acquainted with them before the service.

Is he perfect? No. Blessings....

Cardinal, I see that same thing as well.  I've only been to one of his meetings and I really wasn't all that moved in it, but I could see why others were.  There a huge increase in faith when gatherings like this occur.  People are truly expecting miracles much more in this type of setting than in any other.

Did you ever wonder "why" sports teams have much better games when they have the home-field advantage?  Their opponent has to do battle on two major fronts.  One is the players in the game itself, the other is the fans.  I believe that was the intended message of Hebrews 5 and 6 when it tells us that there are many who were here, but now have gone on before us and are now ampitheatered about us, rooting us on, encouraging us, cheering for us to endure whatever the situation is we're involved with.

When you get an arena full of people all expecting one thing . . for God to move .  . . you are dealing with an extremely powerful force.  If we can have that kind of affect when we come together physically, can you imagine the kind of power "we" have when we realize "we're" the Benny Hinns and the great patriarchs are our fans???  There's no telling the kind of authority we can walk in when we see this happening . . all in faith.

Quaesitor

Are miracles at Benny Hinn's crusades legit?
Why not?
The things is the guy uses so much manipulation and rethoric to get money, it's unbelievable, it's disgusting.
I watched a whole 20 minutes of him asking for money the other day, telling the spectators that if they do not give him money, he cannot preach the gospel and if he doesn't preach the gospel, multitudes are gonna rot in hell burning and gnashing their teeth forever.

20 minutes of it, disgusting.

The key is, is it Benny doing these miracles?
No, it's God.
Has Benny been called by God and annointed?
Probably and God never revoke his callings.

Nathan

To him who much is given.  People tend to beleive everything you "say" is authentic if you have signs and wonders in your ministry.  It costs money for ministries.  Ministries employ people.  Benny does help a lot of people who listen to his tapes, read his books and so forth.  There is a lot of good in there.  If that kind of anointing were on me, I wonder if I would fair any better, or if I would become a walking salespitch.  There, for the grace of God, go I.

I generally just turn the channel though and move on.

:cloud9: I know nobody will probably believe this, but the specific anointing that's on him, the Lord said to me, was the same as Elijah. On the same day He said this to me, He brought into my memory that when it was on John, there was 6 months difference between the birth of him and the birth of Jesus, indicating urgency on His plans being done, as being the message. My  :2c: Blessings....

the problem i have with hinn is that he has, several times, mentioned that God has told him something. the thing that he claims was spoken to him never came to pass. so, the only logical conclusion is: God lied, hinn lied, or he was spoken to by something else that is not God. here is a quote form one such prophesy ""

I believe - here this, hear this! I believe, that Jesus, God's Son, is about to appear physically, in meetings and to believers around the world, to wake us up! He appeared after His resurrection and He is about to appear before His second coming! You know a prophetess sent me a word through my wife, right here, and she said 'Tell your husband that Jesus is go'n to physically appear in his meetings.' I am expecting to see, I am telling you that - I feel it's going to happen. I, I, I'm, I'm careful in how I am saying it now, because I know the people in Kenya are listening. I know deep in my soul, something supernatural is going to happen in Nai - in Nairobi Kenya. I feel that. I may very well come back, and you and Jan are coming, to - Paul and Jan are coming to Nairobi with me, but Paul, we may very well come back with footage of Jesus on the platform!"

he has also claimed to be in touch with the dead. i use to get riled up about such things, but now i know that christ died for him as well as for me. and that we will all go through the fire and come out like christ.

Or perhaps you misunderstood him...???
IMO he spoke a lot but said nothing; like a true politician.

A prophet wouldn't say "expecting" but would state it as a fact.

Even though we all have the ability to walk in the spirit, we are still mortal, in mortal flesh with mortal minds.  So as God gives us his eternal gifts, we sometimes . . .okay, lets be real, pretty much EVERY time a person exercises the gift, it gets abused in one way or another.

Even Elijah was blinded by the ventings of a woman to the point where he thought he was the only one in the world left that was a prophet and he gave up on himself.  He became so destraught that he literally laid down and waited for death.  As great of a prophet that he was . . .so great that he's the symbol of the prophetic ministries.  As great as he was, he still was human and he still let life get the best of him.

But instead of God giving up on him, he sent him an angel who literally made him food, woke him up . . .let him rest, made him food again, woke him up and sent him on a journey that led him to what is believed to be the same place where Moses was when God revealed his hinder-parts.  And in all of that, what I find the most interesting is, this angel ministered to him, fed him and led him all the way to "this place" in the cave where he finally heard that still small voice . . .and the first thing God told him was . . .turn around and go back the way you came . . ..WHAT????

Elijah went to the very edge of the boundary lines of Israel where he was ready to die and God let him "out" of Israel . . .only to tell him to go back?  The angel made him meals, gave him strength and encouraged him . . .to go the wrong way.  He had to go the wrong way in order for God to get him back on track . . .profound principle there.

John the baptist was the same way in that as he was in prison, he sent his disciples to find Jesus to see if he was truly "the one".  Even though John was the one that declared "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!!"  We see the spriit of Elijah as some great thing.  But it's also not so great in that there's a great breaking of our "self" that takes place and "if" Benny Hinn has this anointing, then I don't see how he can avoid the same pattern of that breaking process.

Benny may very well lose sight of the nature of God completely, but if it's true that he does have the Elijah anointing, God will not count him out.

:cloud9: Good post, Nate.....Well, the thing is, He IS "appearing" in His meetings, but that doesn't mean they will literally see Him, although Benny no doubt took what God said, and then his carnal mind took over in imagining HOW that would take place.

At one meeting, he said the glory cloud was over the people, and asked if anyone else could see it. About a 4th of 26,000 people raised their hands; I was not one of them. I asked the Lord, are they REALLY seeing this, or just conforming, and started praying for Him to open MY eyes. A few moments later, I had a vision. I saw Him so HUGE, standing in the midst, that the bottom of His robe came over all the people.

The thing about the robe He wore, is that the holy men wore a riband of blue on the bottom to designate their total devotion to God. This blue, also represents the power of God, the blue of the heavens, the Holy Ghost.

The people were as His feet, and as a huge baby, not yet born. I saw it in that translucent skin stage, the pictures you see of the unborn where you can see the heart and blood vessels. The Holy Ghost was over their heads. So in His way, He confirmed the glory WAS there, for me.

On the other hand, I've seen quite a few videos now where Muslims are saying Jesus came to them and they had a dramatic conversion on the spot from it. One of them was a former terrorist. Blessings....

I remember talking about this on another thread, I said someone prophesied that Jesus was appearing to the muslims in dreams and visions etc. So it's good that you have witnessed this. I'm not sure, but I also saw a Muslim terrorist convert, not sure if it's the same guy you mentioned, but glory to Jesus. The more terrorists that convert the better, these could be the future Pauls.
