Performing Good deeds

here is a challange: for this week try doing good deeds for people with the heart of a servant. if you hold the door open for someone do it as you are serving them. try to do things that you would not normally do. try to do one a day and come to this threat and post it. lets be creative.

Good idea.  I always try to treat people that way, with amazing results I might add.   They open up like flowers in the sun.   I always notice people who treat me that way, too. :thumbsup:

Living as a servant is so hard because there's always a part of me (my flesh) which is bitter about it.
This part finds it unjust that I'm giving and mostly never receiving (from men).

As an employer, being a servant to my employees opens me to all sort of backstabbing and I'm being regularly taken advantage of.

But faith and scriptures whispers in my heart that it is God who reward the servant as Jesus, the ultimate servant, was rewarded with everything on the earth and in heavens.
And that there's no good deeds done in vains under God.

Count me in!

today i purchased lunch for  a friend. u might say, " i do that all the time". for me it is hard, i barely go out to eat, i find i a waste of money. i am kind of cheap, so buying lunch for a friend is a great deed. i did not just buy, but i offered for my whole office but noone took me offer. lets see what is next.

I know this is lacking for me - and is an essential part of making my faith and God's love tangible.  Thanks for the encouraging words!

Lately it has been on my heart to help out immigrants and just last night I spent time looking for how I could get involved again.  No time like the present!

yesterday a young college student came to my house asking that i suscribe to the paper. i never read the newspaper but i suscribed for 20 weeks of the sunday paper. i guess i can use the coupons. lets see what happens next.

Try not to look at it as preforming good deeds... Think in terms of love...

For example, did I make my family Breakfast yesterday out of performing a good deed or did I do it unconsciously out of love? I did not even think about it, I fixed Bkfst for everyone before I even knew it. I think that's what growing in Love is... Not even thinking about it but just doing it because it just the right thing to do.

So easy to love when it comes to family, not too much trouble for friends, but hard for everyone else as my own actions show.
