You Took My Parking Space at Church

YOU TOOK MY PARKING SPACE AT CHURCH

This should wake us up.

One day, a man went to visit a church, He got there early, parked his car and got out. Another car pulled up near the driver got out and said, " I always park there!

You took my place!"

The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat and sat down A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That ' s my seat! You took my place!" The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.

After Sunday School, the visitor went into the sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, " That ' s where I always sit! You took my place!" The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still He said nothing.

Later as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood up, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, "What happened to you?" The visitor replied, as his hat became a crown of thorns, and a tear fell from his eye, "I took your place.."

When you receive this, say a prayer.. That ' s all you have to do. There is nothing attached. This is powerful. Just send this to four people and see what happens.. Maybe, just maybe, we can get the world to start thinking of who took our place..

I personally have never heard of this in churches.  Synagogues, yes, but that's because the congregants pay an annual fee for their seat.   It's often true however that people sit in the same general area in their church, but nobody owns a seat.

I thought the story was nonetheless interesting.

I thought it was talking about stubborn people who allways do things the same way, even sitting in the exact same seat every church service, I think we all have encountered people like that.

Almost that same thing happened to me when I was invited to attend a church by a couple who were to be married in that church after the services were over.  Being almost first in the parking lot which was almost empty, I just pulled up and parked close to the entry way and had no sooner got out of the car when someone pulls up and says "say buddy could you move over to another parking spot? that's my spot you parked in!" so I moved, no big problem. After getting inside the church I found a pew about half way down the Isle and sat there, it was empty , as luck would have it I had no sooner sat down when an older couple comes along and says "that's our seat your sitting in!" though the pew was empty but for myself, they were determined I was sitting in their seat, so again no problem I got up and stepped back and let them have their seat. While this was happening a group walked down the Isle and when they got to me they said "this is a very narrow isle, could you find a seat and sit so we have some room to walk by?" again no problem, by this time I was starting to get fed up with the pushing and  shoving going on at this church anyway so I peacefuly walked back out to my car got in, started up and drove off and never looked back with any hard feelings one way or the other, this whole experience just appeared to be rather pointless and empty of purpose  from my POV.   :bgdance:

 Speaking of church parking I recently read an article where some church was considering puting parking meters in their parking lot and to hire an attendant to enforce issueing fines for parking violations. It seems that in general many of  todays churches have joined the world in continueing to come up with new money making schemes.   :dontknow: :: :mshock:
