Title: The Price
Post by: eaglesway on March 22, 2015, 09:32:12 AM
A new song, I'll try to get it recorded and put a link up to it in the next few days, but here is the lyrics

Well I wish I was
The man I wished that I would be
When the world was fresh and new
When I was a boy
Tall enough to be a man
But not old enough to understand
The price a good man pays
The price a good man pays

And all the dreams that flew
All over the world
That was awakening
Were like a flag unfurled
Above bigotry and war
But the dream got sold
Like we forgot what we were fighting for
So now its money and fame
Just money and fame

And I wish I was
The man I wished that I would be
When the world was fresh and new
When I was a boy
Tall enough to be a man
But not wise enough to understand
The price a good man pays
The price a good man pays

Well the days go by
And we all walk along this ancient road
As the wheel keeps turnin around
and round
When all is said and done
The most beautiful thing beneath the setting sun
Is the price a good man paid
For everyone

And I wish I was
The man I wished that I would be
When the world was fresh and new
When I was a boy
Tall enough to be a man
But not deep enough to understand
The price that a good man pays
The price that a good man pays
We will remember one of these days
The price a good man pays

Wondering if you recorded this one yet so we could hear it ...no rush or anything.  :)

By the way, I found  "All Along the Way" at the reverb site and was able to download it onto my phone. Yay!  And the music app appeared when I did that, giving me the option to make it my ringtone!!  I`d never seen that program before.  So now that song is my ringtone!!!
:dsunny:

So,  thank you.   :)

Eaglesway,

I know from other people's posts that your name is John.  Other than that - ?  Can you let those of us who are out of the loop know how to find your music?  I'm sure there are others that are wondering also, so I decided to post rather than e-mailing you.

Pat

Thanks for the links John.
I haven't listened to all of them yet, but right now it's a tie between "Ain't no grave" and "Marie Rose". I can't wait to hear "The Price" put to music.

To the rest of you guys:  if you haven't heard him yet, you gotta do it.  He's something special!

Thanks Patinak :o)

I discovered yesterday that my main site is down for a week or so while they are retooling the whole site for a re-release. I have about 50 songs on that site.
