Was justing having a conversation with SeekerSA concerning people who sleep with the bible under their pillow so their minds would be protected and it brought to rememberence a funny story when I was a kid.
When I was about 12 years old, I read the bible daily (still do), but I was getting lazy and tired of doing it. So one night I opened my bible to a page and said, "Okay God! Get these words into my brain through Osmosis!" and fell asleep.
When I woke up, I didn't know much more than I did the night before, but I looked in the mirror and the ink was written on my forehead. I think God was playing a joke on me and I laughed with Him realizing how silly I was being.
:cloud9: When I first came to the Lord, and started to read it, faced with the enormity of ever coming to the end of understanding it, and realizing there were not enough hours in a day, I said, "Oh Lord! I wish You could just pour it into me in my sleep!"
That night, I awoke just enough to be vaguely aware of hearing someone speaking the Word to me. Since the church I was in had me fighting a great big devil and worshiping a little God, I rebuked it, if it wasn't of God, and went back to sleep. This happened 3 nights in a row, with me rebuking it the first two. The 3rd night, I said, "Thank You Lord, for Your ministering angels ministering Truth to me while I sleep," and then went back to sleep. God gives us the desires of our heart, especially when it's Him. Blessings to all........
Hey! Craig and Card! I'm not sure this thread should "be" in the HUMOR section, but we can
laugh at ourselves...........and know that we have been down similar roads in trying to search
for pieces of the puzzel, the Bible. I believe it tells the whole story and "is" a Revelation of
HIm who was, and is, and is to come.
When I was young in the Lord, and had first discovered this puzzel which absolutely amazed
me, I used to hear people saying the time would come when they'd "take our Bibles away" from
us.......and I was "worried" about that. ha
So one night, I dreamed I was actually READING the BIble in my sleep.
God is so good..................it comforted me then and it does now!
:cloud9: Yep, He does have a sense of humor; I was surprised to hear that tone in His voice. I've only heard it a handful of times, but it made Him so much more personal to me.
I've always said, He had to have a sense of humor to have made ME, LOL.......sometimes, however we differ on what is actually funny..... :sigh: Gotta be careful what you pray for..........you just might get it! Blessings to you........
A little off subject but it reminds me of a time when I was about 12. My friend got in trouble for writing 'Bon Jovi' on her leg, so her mom made her sit in the kitchen and read the bible...especially the part in the ot about body markings. Someone took a picture of her and we still have the picture of her sitting in the chair, biting the bible, and gleaming at the camera :laughhand: (No wonder she's still a little rebellious)
:laughing7:  That's too funny.......kids...... :dontknow:
Moms.... :dontknow:

Good posts..... God does have a sense of humor, one time some lady at a picknick with white pants sat down on a piece of chocolate cake and didnt know it... she had this big brown spot on her butt and I was laughing and laughing and my friend rebuked me and then I hear God say "I am laughing too"
Yes... He is a God of JOY and laugher is HEALING :mlaugh: :mlaugh: :mlaugh:
You made me think of a post I read earlier today by someone .........here it is: It spoke to
me, perhaps it will YOU too!
I'm up early this morning, having my first cup of coffee.
Love this time of day. Everything is new & fresh, while the house is still peaceful and quiet.
I hear: "Forward"
I see the example: Everything on the human body is facing forward. Our entire operating system faces forward. Our eyes, nose, mouth, arms, legs and so on. There is only one thing that is produced from your backside...it's called crap. You cannot move forward looking back to the past or 'yesterdays' of your life. There is nothing productive in it.
Now I'm thinking, gloom and doom preachers are missing it.
The sky is not falling. Nor is the sky the limit. I repeat, the sky is not the limit. There are NO LIMITS.
When does creation stop procreating? Never. That is a forward motion.
Whatever is coming, changing, evolving, erupting, or manifesting will bring new life. I welcome and embrace "it'. Words can't describe 'it' because scripture says: Eye hath not seen, nor hath ear heard what the Lord has in store...
But you bet that 'it' is the ultimate of his forward movement and purpose for all creation.
Change is good. The change within is the All in All.
Sending everyone peace, joy, blessings, strength, grace, and laughter today,
Bev
