I was wondering if you think there are some new things going on.  I've never seen a man and grizzly hugging each other before lol.
Bear hug is an old expression so nothing new Molly  :laughing7:

Good pix Sparrow. Especially the hopeful picture of the mouse under the wings.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

:cloud9: Hope this bear guy has a better ending than the documentary guy who had lived with them (for a year I think) in the news a few months ago who was trying to convince people that bears were just misunderstood, peaceful creatures. One or more of them "misunderstood" what was for lunch, and ate him and his girlfriend who was filming one of his interactions. The camera "convicted" the guilty parties. Blessings...

Hi! Cardinal

While reading a story about the retired Anchorage school teacher, Charlie Vandergaw, and his bears, I nearly fell out of my chair laffin'.

Seems duh bears LUV WalMart Cookies ... not to mention, Dr. Ballards Dog Food.

It gives a whole new meaning to the expression: "Hungry like a bear!", ay?

http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/wildlife/bears/story/801034.html

"They state says records show along with the 2,800 pounds of dog food purchased by Cartee, Garrod bought another 7,300 pounds, plus some 844 pounds of Wal-Mart cookies".

Molly

Those authorities are beginning to look a little like Captain Queeg:

'All right, who ate the 10,000 pounds of dogfood?'

This is the problem with bureaucracy...

Where's Sarah Palin when we need her?

Thanks for all of the good thoughts you guys!

I'm glad that the intent of the thread has been realized for what it is.
That gives me hope!  :icon_flower:
Which brings us to "Hope" the Elephant:

"Eight-month-old orphan elephant Themba, whose name means 'hope' in Xhosa, who has struck up a friendship with a sheep called Albert at the Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa"

Very nice.

Psalm 133

1 How wonderful and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in harmony!
2 For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil
that was poured over Aaron's head,
      that ran down his beard
and onto the border of his robe.
3 Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon
that falls on the mountains of Zion.
And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing,
      even life everlasting.

ok, so this one is a bit of a repeat...
but I couldn't resist that smile.

WhiteWings... :Urock:  :happy3:
Seriously, man. You don't know how awesome this is to me.
I'm always looking for this type of thing but none of my searches ever came up with anything good! Usually I'm such a good searcher. But I was gettin' nothin'.. NOTHIN'!! What the heck search terms was I putting in? I must have been typing with my feet or something.. :dontknow: :laughing7:

:ty:  :giveheart: :skittles:

By the way I really enjoyed the bird stuff.
That was excellent.

a] bird bible
b] animals in the bible

That is what I Googled for.

If you don't know what exactly you have to Google for try to think of words that are in the article book for certain.
So for bible related stuff the word bible should always be included. A bird book without the word bird doesn't exist. So include that too.

Or google a common question like: What birds does the  bible mention?
You will be suprised how often such questions have good results.

The book/pdf also explains a bit about the customs around animals. And that is what interests me. IMO those customs are closely related to the story of the Bible.
I'll do some more googling. Surely there are 1000's of articles but often very similar or of poor quality.
I'll post those links here or perhaps you can start a thread: "Animals in the Bible books"
I'll move my posts in that thread. That keeps this 'picture only thread' clean.

The Woods book is scanned. Meaning it's nothing more than 403 pages of photo's glued together.
You can't search in such books. I changed the book so that searches do work. It looks 100% the same but searching works you can download it HERE - link will expire in 7 days. I will repost on request. - 63 MB
(if you have other books you want to make searchable let me know)

Wow Sparrow, these are amazing photos.  I feel really blessed.

This passage springs to my mind...

"Aren't five sparrows sold for a couple of pennies? But not one of them is forgotten by God" (Luke 12:6)

Please forgive the irony about the sparrow thing lol.
