Those all good bands, but the only singer I'm familiar with is Elvis. As for mine, it's hard for me to think of favorites, but I'll write down the top ones I can think of from each decade.

How could I have forgotten Cheb Khaled?  He's Algerian, a singer of the musical style called Rai.  His backup band is amazing.  Here is the link to a video, and you will recognize the music if you're a fan of The Fifth Element:

I have The White Stripes and Jack White each listed because well Jack White is my absolute favorite musician of all time and I listen to his solo stuff and his stuff from the White Stripes all the time.
