A christian that has never read much of the Old Testament decides one day that he is going to correct this by reading the whole Bible cover to cover. So he starts reading and over a few weeks and makes it all the way through the books of...
Genesis
Exodus
Leviticus
Numbers
Deuteronomy
Joshua
Judges
Ruth
1 Samuel
2 Samuel
1 Kings
2 Kings
1 Chronicles
2 Chronicles
Ezra
Nehemiah
Esther
Job
Psalm
Proverbs
Ecclesiastes...

Then he reads Song of Songs and thinks "Wow! This is talking about breasts and sexual fruit metaphors? I had no idea the Bible was so edgy!"

 Some believe the forbidden fruit was sex.. now how they get this from "be fruitful and multiply" and "behold it was all good" is totally beyond me. Others think it must have been the apple.. giving the apple which one a day can keep the dr away! a totally bad rep! Of course the forbidden fruit was disobedience. My son about 20 years go asked me why the tree of knowing good and evil was in the garden.. I answered him but I wasn't very satisfied with my answers, so I prayed for better understanding and got answers back that seemed sort of like "bam!" or a series of bams. Knocked my socks right off, and they're still knocked off. Short answer, God is both life and perfection, so when He endowed thinking and reasoning ability a whole new world (er, tree) of possibilities came about because with it, sooner or later, comes the ability to make choices. But, once we choose any tiny thing in thought, word, or deed that disagrees with what He chooses, we become imperfect, the opposite of Life/God/Perfection! So the remedy - "rescue of all" as the CEV says it, was "built in from the foundation/beginning". ..Being life itself, He lives through all things which occur.. every war.. every horror man does to man.. etc.

Why put Himself through all that? Obviously he's not creating an ant farm.. But something far greater.. And He engineered things so all able to think and reason beings would go through this unavoidable journey (lesson!) all at once together.. He IS quite the genius, which of course is a huge understatement.. :dsunny:

Well.. I strayed a little.. I even had to scroll up to remind myself what you posted, lol. God bless!

:2c:  God teaches the pupils[of His eyes]often by building on a'lower concept"they may have of understanding.[for My thoughts

are higher than your thoughts. We know 'flesh and blood' does NOT inherit. So what is He trying to say....andwhat can we learn

about God and higher spiritual things..through our relationships while in flesh and blood.

A man desires faithful love[so does God] a man works to provide for wife and family/feed and clothe/protect..raise children

up to maturity.a man desire respect from his wife, for her to be a partner...one in love..as they raise and care for their children

Truth/trust..a relationship freeof any "other woman' or'other man"such as Babylon/whoring/kings of the earth..etc.

Does a man desire a wise and understanding wife? Does his eyes desire her?  Well,so doesJesus/God have desires 'spiritually speaking"

without spot or wrinkle in the world..versus a wife..totally committed to her husband/vice-versa...'Ionly have eyes for you"

Our fleshly bodies also eat/drink/cast off dung have emissions etc too. And He also uses these things 'common tomen' of flesh and blood

to teach a higher spiritual truth, doesn't He? :girlheart:

Can we'increase and be fruitful"spiritually in the Lord?Grow inLove and understanding?raise up children in the faith and assist them

in their growth?[raise up a child in the way, when he is old he will not depart from it] THE Family of God.?

Can we be a'capable' spouse..as in Proverbs 31...make linen garments and sell them..and supply merchants? Can the merchants

be those with talents 'of light' that trade with each other for 'INCREASE" in Christ?...and be about 'MY FATHER'S BUISINESS?"

as a child in the temple...Jesus was about His Father's  business...and many were amazed.John said'HE MUST INCREASE"

The WORD OF GOD..come in flesh-literally...AND spiritually. There is literally flesh and literally spirit.

and regarding body parts...especially those that appear 'less' honorable 1Cor 12;22-26.......greater HONOUR to the parts that LACKED

it.........Can you not  see....that God honours such things as eating and drinking and giving in marriage...and yet the kingdom of God is

not about that..Romans 14;17.Matthew 24;38.......and they KNEW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN......

PERISHING WITH THE USE.....Col 2;20-23 :2c:

Amen!! Right on! ...I also have thought, to create something of any sort of matter.. (.."in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells." 2 Pet.3:13 --- Genesis 8:22, "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.'" (But our new bodies won't be so cold in the cold or so hot in the hot..? )

...That any sort of matter brings about a MUCH GREATER possibility of temptation.. as opposed to being intellect or mind alone.. (which is why I think God shows His infinite patience in waiting before creating the universe and man and woman. not only when the first rebel thought occurred, in the pre-material world of 'only' the Father, the Son, and the angels (and God's Spirit/Presence) as it apparently did, but also waited until that rebel thought had fuLLy matured!

Any sort of materialism/matter - wondrous as it is.. so creative and beautiful even while imperfect! Imagine once perfect! Talk about a masterpiece.. and work of art! :faint:
   :girlheart:

"He is preparing a banquet.." spiritual and literal? "I will not drink of wine again until in the Kingdom".. The truth is not about meats and days, rules and regulations.. but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.." :cloud9: (from Romans 14:17, context 13-14)

:2c:yes,Marie...the spiritual has real substance, too. Heaven is not just a concept..lacking real matter...this present temporal creation,

was also once...just a concept in the mind of our Father, too. :girlheart:

People apparently debate whether it is about romance and sexuality between Solomon and a woman, or if it is about God and the church. It has been months since I have read it so I don't remember it very well, but the book seemed to me when I read it to be about romance and sexuality, but both those things(in marriage) are about God's relationship with believers(at least insofar as they are expressed in good ways), just as Paul said. I obviously don't have some desire to have sex with Jesus but I think our relationship with God is ultimately going to be as natural, zealous, generous, easy, etc as Godly sexual desires.
