I've seen stubbornness in a child..........gets it from his parents.
Grace is to the humble.....the teachable. The proud get grace too, just in another manner, in the form of resistance. The goal of resistance is to bring us to humility so we can see the grace of God.
Knowing that God is love and always on our side, even resistance or adversity can be seen as grace, although I never pray for it that way.
Doctrine is what strengthens our proud stance. Faith in our doctrine brings us to the point of not being able to change......stubborn. Doctrine is a belief. Children have beliefs making them stubborn.
How can we change a belief? Only love. That is how God changes our stubborn hearts.
Many take their stubbornness to the grave. The only baggage I want for the grave is love.

some probably think we are stubbornly holding fast to the 'heresy ' of UR :laughing7:
They do, but they hold to that even in the face of a mountain of evidence against their understanding. It's not a great mystery. It's difficult to change. It's painful and can feel lonely.
You stiff-necked and uncircumscized in heart and ear, do you always resist the Holy Spirit as your fore-fathers did before you?
