If God were a monster
He would plan so well
That most of His children
Wind up in hell
Hopeless forever
Ever in pain
Eternal torment
With nothing to gain
But suffering for suffering sake

If God were a monster
He would choose a few
For eternities best
And infinite blessings
While all of the rest
Refuse
In fire and brimstone
With vengeance heaped
Upon the coals of the everlasting funeral pyre

So all would fear Him
For none could love Him
Were He such a monster
To plan such a fate
That so many would suffer
Till eternal hate
Exceed love so surely
As to boggle the mind of any soul
Longing purely for a more powerful, enduring salvation

One that could
And most surely would
Reveal Him as Shepherd
Searching for all
Until all are brought in
Every sheep in its pasture
Every goat in its stall
All made new once again
The whole creation delivered from futility

But if God were a monster
He would so endow will
And mind
With rebellion
That sending His son
To die on a cross
Would mean little to most
And less to Him
So indifferent the monster to suffering their loss

But if God were like Jesus
He would be reconciling
All by the blood of His cross
Praying dying
"Father forgive them
They know not what they do"
Then risen, declaring,
"Behold, I am making all things new,
Now write down these words, they are faithful and true"

:iagree:Very nice poem! Thank you for sharing. Boy it's going to come as a shock as people realize all the lies we have been told about our Father God by religious leaders.

It can be painful for us not being able to get others to see our Father for who He is. But we must be patient and remember He is in control. We speak Truth as He asks and show them the friut of the Spirit. He will lead them to His heart. The scriptures say a loving Father punishes out of love for correction and scripture does compare human Fathers with our Heavenly Father. But they still can't accept it until He opens their eyes. :HeartThrob:
