Title: God is kind.... and here is why I say that...
Post by: sparrow on March 08, 2009, 07:54:18 AM
Do you realize that he COULD have made these creatures HUGE? He could have made these creatures the size of dogs. Or the size of horses....

but no.
He made these intricate, crazy (somewhat er.. monstrous) looking things TINY.

This is indisputable proof that our God is a very, very KIND God.  :laughing7:
AND he has a great sense of humor.

I hope you never look at insects the same way again... :icon_flower:

Can you imagine if this thing was huge??!!

http://www.photopumpkin.com/wp-content/uploads/macro1.jpg

or what about him? What if you walked out of your house one day and tripped over this guy?

http://www.photopumpkin.com/wp-content/uploads/macro8.jpg  <--actually he's kinda cute. Maybe if he was like huge, you could put a little saddle on him and ride him around the neighborhood. That might be cool. He might be really slow though judging by his little legs. Oh well... still cool.

The variety and color of creatures is mind-boggling and artfully beautiful.  That caterpillar - whew, I would not want to meet one my size!   I do enjoy looking at photos of them.  Thanks.

:cloud9: I love looking at His creation, too. Did you happen to see in the news last week the new fish species they discovered that had a boxy shaped head and was striped so that the stripe pattern of it's head, was like it was a folded box end? It is amazing to me how He can fashion myriads of things and never make the same thing twice.....just like people and snowflakes. For that reason, I don't think we'll ever see all the depths in His Word. Good pics! Blessings....

Stomp!

Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:
--Gen 1

"subdue"

H3533
כּבשׁ
kâbash
kaw-bash'
A primitive root; to tread down; hence negatively to disregard; positively to conquer, subjugate, violate: - bring into bondage, force, keep under, subdue, bring into subjection.

What would be the purpose of God creating something just so we could come along and stomp on it? Doesn't make much sense... :dontknow: Why go the trouble of designing and creating it just for it to be tread under foot?

Sure, we all swat flys and kill bugs that invade our homes...
I'm not saying let bugs infest us or let bees sting us...
but shouldn't we really be trying to learn more ways to preserve rather than kill, wherever we can?
I know personally, once I started to pick up little spiders and set them outside instead of killing them it actually helped me get over my fear of bugs.  :happy3: (I had a horrible fear!) I still get scared of some stuff, but for the most part I kind of just see his little crazy creations and think Wow!!!

well, just a little something to think about.. :icon_flower:

My daughter Heather almost always puts insects of any kind outside or out of harm's way.  If it has to be killed, such as flies, she leaves that to someone else.  Heather does not like death.  She used to cry on road trips over the dead animals lying on the sides of the roads.  I don't enjoy killing bugs, but I do put out fireant pellets and bug spray to keep the pests off of us.

That's so sweet. I think it pleases God to see His children treating his creation with care and respect as much as they can.
I'm still a bug killer, like I said... but I do make a conscious effort to try to just put them outside when I can. Sounds odd to some people, I guess... but sometimes it's the little things that you do that makes you stop and ponder God. So if putting a spider outside instead of killing it makes a person stop and ponder God for a minute...then I think that's a good thing.  :icon_flower:

Watch...

God is going to put all sorts of bugs in my house tonight... :laughing7:

I can hear him now "well, you said you thought they were interesting looking!"

Sparrow, I'm a man and rough and 'tough' kind of a guy yet I hear ya on the small critters. I work at a place where mice are a problem and I hate killing them and have let a few go too. I made a deal with God a long time ago. I said that if He would just reroute these littles critters away from my buildings then I won't kill them. He doesn't and I do.

I really have asked the question, why are some things created? I know the circle of life thing but really what is the difference between killing a few dozen mosquitoes or mice or killing 10 dogs or 1000 bald eagles or 100 elephants or ?????????

Even just walking around we probably kill many life forms. Seems like killing is what we do best! I know there is intentional killing and unintentional yet I think people do a lot of intentional killing, unintentionally!  :mshock:

See, the men who see creatures that way are the ones who have the REAL strength, in my opinion.  :icon_flower:

I think that definitely some things were created because this world is the "fallen" world. Like... we NEED vultures to clean up the animal carcases. Mosquitoes? They feed bats, fish eat mosquito eggs, dragonflies eat them etc... They help feed other creatures. Just like all of the flesh-eating animals out there. It won't be that way forever, of course. But right now.. nature is HARSH! Maybe in the next life, mosquitoes will serve a completely different purpose. Or maybe they will be extinct, obsolete? I don't know, I tend to see God just changing their purpose maybe. Kind of like with us... right now, a lot of humans are pretty HARSH... but it won't be that way forever. Why not give a mosquito a new job to do?  :happy3:

Also, I know people say "well animals eat meat, why can't we?" Well... we CAN eat meat. No-one is stopping anyone from eating meat. I myself, only stopped all meat back in January of this year. But, y'know... if it's put on your heart to not eat meat, then I think that is a beautiful thing. It's not trying to make anyone else feel bad. It's just...y'know... trying to help the cows and pigs and stuff not have such a bad life here. supply and demand.

and yeah, I do miss steak.  :laughing7: And when you were talking about steak and mashed potatoes and junk in heaven, I was thinking... hmmm. yeah, God can you let us eat cow-free steak?
