Title: Your relationship with the Holy Spirit as a UR believer
Post by: Andrew on August 06, 2017, 05:04:47 AM
I'm looking for stories to help build up my faith in UR. The question i have is how has your relationship with the Holy Spirit changed since you became a UR believer rather than ET? Have you had more experiences feeling the presence of God? I would like to hear any miracle stories that prove that God really is with the UR believer. dO ANY of you speak in tongues? I'm just interested in your experience because i had more God in my life when I was ET  - but my story is complicated so there could be many reasons for why that is.

Thanks

One story I can share is this.

I remember a number of years ago going thru an experience where I felt overwhelmed by the simple fact of billions of people on the earth living in futility and suffering. It ha kind of crept up on me over a period of time and I just became aware of it in fulness one day and cried out to the Lord.....

Why?

Of course, I dont hear from God every time I cry out to Him, but on this day I did.

He spoke to me in my heart, "I have a plan that will yield unimaginable glory"

During this period I had also been intensely studying URbecause altho i had been convinced in my spirit for years I still didnt have alll the answers to the seeming paradoxes in the English language Bibles. When I came out of that time of study(Greek and Hebrew studies regarding words like olam, aion, sheol Hades, etc.) I saw the beauty of Philippians 2:9-11

9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

And I found myself, when on the subway or on a bus in NYC where I live looking at all the people, rather than weeping within for the futility of their lives, rejoicing, because I knew that God had a beautiful plan that included evry one of them and feeling love for each and all of them knowing that He loves them all and has provided for them all, no matter their current disposition towards Him- a plan of ultimate redemption.

To this day I find that I can love everyone I see- the lost, the hateful and the confused.... because I know that it is not dependent on me. It is dependent on God because it is not my plan, it is His, and it is far more glorious than I can ever see in this life- but it is enough to know that He is in control of everything and everyone and causes all things to work according to the counsel of His will.

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. Eph 1

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. ! Tim 2

Thanks for that Eaglesway

''this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.''

As i always seem to question things, I wonder how an ET believer might respond to this. At first I thought that maybe they'd say this means that they (unbelievers at time of death) will acknowledge Jesus as Lord because of his pure glorious nature but it will be too late for them. Then I thought that the word "confess" was interesting because isn't confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior how one gets saved in the first place.

It is also worth pointing out that the famous passage in Philippians appears to reference Isaiah 45, which mentions the ends of the earth being saved:

"Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23
I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath.
24
He shall say,
'Surely in the Lord I have righteousness and strength.
To Him men shall come,
And all shall be ashamed
Who are incensed against Him.
25
In the Lord all the descendants of Israel
Shall be justified, and shall glory.'" (Isaiah 45:22-25)

That seems that it would suggest that all those who bow the knee truly are saved, rather than just acknowledging Jesus as Lord

"In the Lord all the descendants of Israel
Shall be justified, and shall glory"

just a question, how much of the world does the descendants of Isreal refer to?

thanks

Hi Andrew.

I think for me, my belief in UR reassures me that Love is the best and complete answer. God's love really is everlasting.....to know I and all my fellow humans will never be abandoned is comforting and feels to me, like the God I always knew in my heart.  As I have said before, on this website....we all will go home one day. Abandonment is a deep seated issue for me, and to know that God does not abandon us, gives me great peace, despite what the world says. All are God's children and deserve our love and understanding.

1 Corinthians 15:22

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

It seems only right that the cycle is complete. In our sin, God set out to transform us, through the sacrifice and example of His only Son. We become the clay and He is the Potter, and we are molded into sons and daughters of the Most High.

Hey Dandileon

1 Corinthians 15:22

''For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."

It's funny you posted that cause about fifteen minutes ago I was reading Corinthians and I noticed that verse and thought it was interesting.

The only thing an ET believer could say to that is that maybe all is referring to only christians because thats who the letter is directed to. That might be stretching a bit, or they might say that everyone (all) has the chance to choose Christ and if they do they will be made alive.

And I know how you feel about believing that God will save all. That's want I 've always wanted to believe and the reason why when I was first introduced to Christ I rebelled and went into the new age where all were saved, and by the end of it I was filled with demons and definitely not saved.

:cloud9: Hi again...yes I speak in tongues, have for 32 years now. He's had me study the Tabernacle for almost that long, because as Hebrews 9 tells us, it's the pattern of heavenly/spiritual things.

So therefore, the way He showed me UR was through the design of the Tabernacle and Him speaking to me about something I had not seen in it. What He quickened to me was, that since I knew that the two trees in the MIDST of the garden were represented in the Tabernacle by the two pieces of furniture in there, the table of showbread and the gold candlestick, then the inner court where they were being the MIDST of the Tabernacle, that meant that if the MIDST of the garden was His, then ALL THE GARDEN WAS HIS.

If you understand that the outer court is where the non-priests, women, children, and even strangers were, then you realize that it's ALL INCLUSIVE, the WHOLE garden is His. It was actually a shock to me at first, as I think it is to anyone.

As for how it changed me, I really don't know, as I still see a corrective aspect to everything He had in the pattern made for us, and I never believed in the traditional hell, as I asked Him about that right away. What was quickened to me over that, was this: "Hell is simply separation from Me and there are billions walking around in hell right now."

So I see it as separation from G-d and ALL will go through that but also ALL will go through whatever processing it takes both here and in the soul's placement to come, to come to the knowledge of the one true God and His redeeming Christ. So it's ALL good in the end, He loses none save the son of perdition (Satan). Blessings

Wow! I enjoyed reading this thread! Awesome posts to read!  :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: Loved 'em..

And I think Eaglesway's - "I have a plan that will yield unimaginable glory." sums things up very well..

Yep! that verse is Romans 10:9 -  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

..I wonder what verse 8 says.. 8 - https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+10&version=NKJV (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+10&version=NKJV)

:Chinscratch: :Chinscratch: verse 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? - sounds like something a defense lawyer might say.. imo,

"will acknowledge Jesus as Lord because of his pure glorious nature but it will be too late for them" - :faint: wow.. what sort of feeling does that leave us with..? :faint:

The one I'm familiar with is they'll bend the knee as if by force.. and confess Jesus as though through gritted teeth.. (very dramatic)

I was a wicked child of God and did not go to church(es). Or, that is to say, I used to feel a little bit 'guilty' (but forgiven!) about not being involved with a church.. but I had tried it.. and it didn't feel right.

Was I supposed to love people.. all the people.. like Jesus says? Or was I supposed to have somewhat of a stern manner with people so they would know they were sinners and need to repent?

I do think we all have to repent.. it being the doorway to the Kingdom.. But I knew right away I was supposed to Love. And churches found me conforming.. I hate conforming.. you know, being my best phoney self.. I hate that.. THat's not brothers and sisters! Maybe its' me.. But either way.. I'm now rather happy I was not very much educated by the churches.. or speakers, or books.. mostly only Andrew Murray's "Jesus the Vine" or a title like that.. (great book!)

But mostly I got to thinking of myself as a sort of spiritual hermit.. It helped that originally I 'found' God in the mountains and not in a church.. tho I was baptized in a church.. (stream would've been better!)

So I never really was taught a lot of doom and gloom along with the "glad tidings". I was a happy christian for many years, though along with life's troubles of course, but my life really changed, going on to almost 20 years now, when our son, then aged 16, asked me two questions - "why was the tree of knowing good and evil in the garden?" and "isn't it great.. we get to be an ant farm?". ('In the heart of a cynic is an idealist.')

Perhaps you can see the all too obvious answer to those questions.. but I wasn't very happy with my answers.. so I prayed.. What I ended up learning is that God can only be Perfect.. and the word says He is - "be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect.."

Perfect, it dawned on me, makes NO mistakes! And can lose nothing! If perfect loses one (thing), it is not perfect. (And imperfect cannot endure. Because God iS life. And perfection. It's kind of a circle there I know.. But somehow I know that imperfection cannot endure, but it fades. 2nd law of science? "the law of sin and death"! the greek word written "sin" is "missing the mark" - the wages/result of missing the mark/imperfection is death. - Because God is life.)

And, since He is perfect, the 'end' result of all this (human history) can only be the very best one possible. (Surely?!)

He is all capable.. noT impotent.. The Almighty is all powerful! "Love never fails" .."With God all things are possible" .."is anything too hard for God?"

It's been very strengthening too, to find Tentmaker! And to meet believers who believe and study upon a "Victorious Gospel"!!

And it seemed logical to me that He could see all possibilities before ever doing one act of creation. and also logical, that He has done (and engineered) all things just the way He has in order to bring about the very best of all possibilities. And being life He lives through and suffers all sufferings, etc which ever occur...

My experience of believing in UR came after He showed me there were only three possibilities when it came to salvation just at the end of my two years of being indoctrinated in the church.

He then proceeded to change my profession, going from construction into being a truck driver, that was His way of getting me away from all the distractions of men telling me that UR was not true. (Like marie glen, I became a hermit).

The three possibilities are:
That none would be saved
That some would be saved
That all would be saved

The none possibility was easily cancelled out simply because I believed in God and I knew that He saves people, leaving only the other two

Since I was indoctrinated into the "some" understanding, He then proceeded to make the phrase "with God all things are possible" so prominent I could not ignore it. Since I had studied His word under the context of ET, under the context of only some would be saved, I now had to study His word under the context of "all would be saved" and that is what led me to UR and this board; He saved the best for last.

How has my relationship changed with His Spirit since then? It has done nothing but grow and grow and not just the relationship but also His Spirit itself in me. I find myself becoming the vessel of His compassion towards others, becoming the vessel of His forgiveness towards others, becoming the vessel of His love towards ALL

You want to experience His Spirit, ask Him to show you HIS work IN you, and what's truly amazing is, you don't even have to ask for it, He knows what we need before even the thought of asking enters into our mind

I have gone through two stages of thinking and am now in the third:
First stage: Reveal your righteousness to show me my sin and asking Him to do something about it
Second stage: Reveal your righteousness to show me my sin so I can do something about it
Third stage: Reveal your righteousness and show me what you are doing about it IN ME

I no longer focus on things below "sin" (missing the mark) and "me", I only focus on things above "righteousness" and "Him" because He IS the mark

It ALL about Him and what He is doing "for" us and "in" us and that is having an experience every moment of each day and that is what I call LIVING
