Depends on who you're talking about in particular.  John was the first one born again, of those that were still bodily among the living and mortal, 'cause he believed having not seen.  Some were saved after their walk on the road to Emmaus when the Word burned in their hearts and when the Word opened their eyes to Him, He vanished.  Others, when He breathed on them, etc.  Depends on who you're talking about on when.  But then there's the issue of how you interpret the Lamb's Book of Life, having your name written in heaven, etc., that Jesus mentioned prior to His crucifixion.  Mark 4 and Luke 8 would say it's when the Word germinated in them, so who really knows on that?  Even though there were heart storms along the way, but He was keeping them in God's Name per John 17 and it says elsewhere that a bruised reed He would not break nor smoking flax quench until His judgments were victorious in their behalf.  This comes down to a question of your soteriology and your views of the divine Sovereignty as well, whether or not the kenosis made it a done deal, or whether we're talking about they were saved the very moment He opened His mouth in Genesis 3:15, via the prophets, or via His Word being established in heaven.

Everyone,

Well done Martin. John 20:22. Jesus breathed on Them and they received the Spirit. Not sure about the apostles getting saved at other times. I believe they all got born again here.

Why not discuss something that matters Lee100?  Why not answer the MANY, MANY, questions on the MANY, MANY topics which have been generated BY YOU... :pitiful:  Why not busy yourself with discussion instead of DAILY seeking the "limelight" here at TM?

It is my observation that you are the TM "class clown"... :icon_jokercolor: seeking EVERYONE to focus upon YOU!    And then, one by one, abandoning the discussions, for they really don't even MATTER TO YOU!

What difference does it make when or where or even, ...IF, the "Apostles" were "born again" or "Saved"? :wacko2:

It doesn't take a ROCKET SCIENTIST to make a pretty "safe guess" that if it "didn't happen" for them, it MOST certainly WILL...  :cloud9:

everyone,

I welcome your revelation on this.

What relevance has THIS TOPIC to THIS FORUM?  :dunno:

This forum is to discuss UNIVERSAL SALVATION...  :dontknow:

This and many of your topics are nothing but a WASTE of time.

Amen Willie. I think coglee thinks he has a mission from God to disrupt this forum in any way possible and, even though some think he is doing good and I suppose I do too in some ways, I think the sillyness needs to end at some point.

I'll trust the mods and be patient.

The Cause Of Spiritual Stupidity

It is to the man who is trying to live, to the man who is obedient to the word of the Master, that the word of the Master unfolds itself. When we understand the outside of things, we think we have them: the Lord puts his things in subdefined, suggestive shapes, yielding no satisfactory meaning to the mere intellect, but unfolding themselves to the conscience and heart, to the man himself, in the process of life-effort. According as the new creation, that of reality, advances in him, the man becomes able to understand the words, the symbols, the parables of the Lord. For life, that is, action, is alone the human condition into which the light of the Living can penetrate; life alone can assimilate life, can change food into growth. See how the disciples here fooled themselves!

Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?
