What type of death was Apostle Paul talking about?

for the wages of the sin is death, and the gift of God is life age-during in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

I was wondering what type of death it is. I done some research and saw it could mean physical or spiritual death. I don't believe it's eternal hell. Could this death be physical? As sin has consequences for example, drinking too much. If the person kept on drinking heavily, they could end up dead.  :dontknow: Or maybe it's the death of our soul. But we are immortal souls, so it can't mean that. I did watch a video where a girl explained people could live to 1,000 or 100 years. They might have been physically immortal. Yes, sounds crazy.  For example, there was a man in the bible who lived to 100. I think his name was Abraham, I'm not sure. But anyway, we have sinned so we can't live for amount of years and this caused death, physical death.

The wages of sin are physical (literal) and spiritual death (figurative). 

Sin causes separation, guilt and shame which inhibit our walk with Christ.  Sin can bring about changes within us that can harden us.  This hardening can cause us to not seek the face of God.  Without a relationship with God, we are considered dead.

This verse certainly doesn't support eternally burning, or even eternal separation.  It is merely a cause and effect statement.  If you do this, it can lead to this...cause...effect.

In my line of work we call this spiritual bankruptcy.  Sometimes people make the mistake when looking at UR that many of us are soft on sin, or we negate the consequences of sin.  The Bible is clear...sin leads to death.  There are consequences to our choices.  We just don't believe those consequences are eternal or punative in nature.

I think the first question that should be answer is:

How many people will be resurrected if Jesus had NOT died on the cross?

1] Everyone?
2] Only the saints?
3] Nobody?
4] Some other number?


I think option 3 - Nobody.
Jesus is the firstfruit. But He can't be if He wouldn't have died.
But in that case the wages of sin are still death. Physical death.
Also: Jesus doesn't save from death but out of death.
