What is the Kingdom of God? Throughout the NT the term inherit(which is in the future tense meaning sometime in the future)the Kingdom of God is mentioned. So what IYHO is the KoG? Is it the future Millenial Kingdom?
Interesting question.
There are statements made by Paul which point to those kingdoms.
Col 1;13 " For He has transferred us out of this power of darkness into the kingdom of His beloved Son."
Eph 3;10 " In order that now , through the ecclesia, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and the
authorities in the heavenly realm."
Eph 3;14,15 " For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from Whom every family in heaven and on earth derives it's name."
1 Cor 15;24-26 " Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when He has destroyed every dominion,
every authority, and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.
The last enemy destroyed is death."
1 Cor 15;50 " For I declare to you brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does perishable inherit
imperishable."
Christ makes a point about kingdoms when brought before the Pilate.
John 18;36 " Jesus answered,
My kingdom is NOT of this world; if My kingdom were of this world my subjects would be fighting to
prevent Me being handed over to the Jews; but as it is My kingdom is not from here."
When tempted in the wilderness Christ recognised the authority of Satan in this present age.
Also; John 14;30 " I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on Me"
The Lord's prayer indicates a difference of kingdom of earth and kingdom of heaven.
" Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
Isaiah refers to the difference of power in the heavens ;
Isaiah 40 points out how we are but tiny in comparison to He Who sits upon the circle of the earth. [Is 40;22-24].
The book of Hebrews explains how Christ was made a little lower than angels, but was raised up above them- we will be like Him.
Also points out Christ coming before the Father in the heavenly temple [ Hebrews 9;24].
All these chats about the different kingdoms seems to point out they are a part of the Kingdom Of God which is all encompassing of the whole of creation. A vast place.
The Kingdom of God. Great question.
I think it is the realm of the uniting of those who are able to live in the Spirit, if only for brief moments. It is seeing past the veil of this world, past earthly wants and desires, and being in awe of the incredible majesty of our loving God. It is when a human can envision, what could be, if we give God His due....if we have the faith of a mustard seed....if we walk by faith and not by sight. It is when we know that there truly is nothing greater than our God.... it is to become as a child, and see God, through innocent and trusting lenses. It is to claw up the mountain of life, and catch a view of the eternal. The Kingdom is all of us......at our best moments. It is the finger of God, touching his beloved children, and them recognizing Him.

I think the Kingdom of God isn't a place but a state of mind.
The kingdom of satan is murder, deceit, hate, poverty, sickness, etc
The Kingdom of God is the opposite.

:iagree:
Imagine the best it could be and then multiply it exponentially - our ever expanding garden
And, it is the pearl of great price.

:2c:I believe it is not only an[e]state of mind..butaplace,too.I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU...we must not contradict
the 'WORD OF GOD"though in our weak and corruptible state..we easily become entangled in it before we know it.
It isboth..as piritual estate and dwelling place prepared forus.Let us not fall short of the full glory of the Kingdom.
it is a much HIGHER CREATION. :friendstu:
Romans 14:7 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

I agree sheila, I think it is a place in our hearts and a place where Christ sits up his kingdom when he returns. Its
where ever Christ rules from.

I think it's the whole ball of wax! The Kingdom, to me, is The Truth. Abel was of truth.. God's leading and summoning, etc.. from Abraham to Revelation.. and beyond.. the Millennial earthly reign of Jesus of 1000 years - yes, I think 1000 is literal. A thousand years may be like a year to God.. from His perspective, but I don't think that's a code applying to all numbers..
And also, the Kingdom when it is submitted to the Father, all things having been subdued.. and all made new. When God will "tabernacle" on Earth with mankind. the Earth made new (renewed?).. When
"the lion will eat straw like the ox, the bear will graze with the cow" Is. 11:7. "Everyone will sit under their own vine
and under their own fig tree, and they will live in peace. This is a solemn promise of the Lord All-Powerful..." Micah 4:4. :cloud9:
Great posts above all!! :cloud9: :Yesss:
..and P.S. .."inheritance.. inherit.." Reading this how Jesus told the pharisees they would not inherit the kingdom.. I was thinking how it's not a future tense as we modern folks think of it.. but more of a present tense. I think we inherit the kingdom now, even if it is not fully arrived.. And ultimately, I think all will inherit the kingdom.. for all will be one, even as the Father and Son are one..
