I thought real hard about UR and how Love was the greatest expression of God
and because of other scriptures and being decieved , kind of made me struggle with all of it
But after reading Matthew 5 and actually trying to DO Matt 5 in every day living applying it to life , I found it harder than easier to do .......at first ~~
I was trying to make my flesh to this , and fought it often becuse the flesh is soooo weak easy to cave under pressure
But it dawned on me one day , you know if Jesus is telling us to do this and God was perect and we also should become perfect , that God really is Love and Jesus Christ is that expression of Love manifested to us on the earth , wow , its how evil is destroyed ! making friends when they were your enemies!! because they cannot say a BAD thing about you in anything
I know the God of the old testament seems so harsh and down right hard to please
It was those trying to keep all the Law an impossible task for a carnal and human to do ...
you could never judge right ! only THINK your right , in upholding the Law , yet a law breaker yourself ....... the law itself would destroy you , I speak from personal experience , because conviction and fear is what kept me in line and it was a most misreable time of my life !!
I hated my life and thought that is just what Jesus says to hate it ...
Well I had it all wrong of course , and this is why
I DO have empathy on those whom are still in that mindset , been there and done that and it was HELL on earth , becoming a prisoner to please God but with no faith , thought I had faith but realized this the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak
what Spirit is willing to please God ? but the Lord Jesus Christ in you doing whjat pleases God , its His faith we do not deny , its His life we represent , ITS HIS JOY and peace we get to partake of here and now , wow ! did that ever turn it around for me
To keep this relationship with the Lord on going in obedience and a surrunder everything I thought I knew and let God have it all .. its humbling but I can keep a clean conscience now , where as before I was ready to DIE , and Not LIVE !! I had it all so backwards
when the Spirit of Life teaches you His Word correctly , its DOES CHANGE you for the better . :dsunny:

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you
That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:48 Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
How do you apply these scriptures to denying Christ ?
If the Spirit of Christ is in you and in others as the scriptures do tell us is True
Jesus showed Right here !! how to love your enemies when praying before hanging on that cross , and when we take up our Cross and follow after Him we also are in that position of praying to the Father that our own soul , our seat of emotions and how we feel about sin and wrong doing just plain evil at the hands of sinners , making that sacrafice of obedience to Jesus testimony as TRUE !!!
even than we put our old man to death [soul of Adam] not wanting to suffer for others wrong doing !! remember Adam blamed Eve for his own disobedience to Gods will !!
Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
not as a group [but ALONE WITH GOD THE FATHER in your secret inner room [quiet place of reasoning with the Father ] making those points , pleasing God by faith in Him to raise us also up again after death to a better and more powerful place of being in Christ than before and dying to self serving ,,,
I have just now realized all this after all these years !!! to sleep is to be in sorrow not the Joy of the Lord knowing God has everything under control !!
temptation comes when my flesh which is weak is under control of my soul [life thats seat of emotions , anger , sadness , happy etc is ruling it ...
wow When the Spirit of the Father and Son both are in turn and made right with my own spirit we are ONE , AS THE HOLY SPIRIT IS expressed by Pauls 1 Corthians 8 and Eph 4

Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.
Mat 26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
Mat 26:43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. [percieving what is taking place , they could not see beyond flesh and blood ]
Mat 26:44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
Mat 26:45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take [your] rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
your rest IS Jesus peace , Jesus had made peace with this work and we must also learn to accept Gods will as putting to death our Christ in you AS a sacrfice of obedience to the hands of sinners also , so we can be LIKE HIM !!!
The Lord puts me in long dry spells /like a death place sort of quiet and still no moving of Spirit or nothing and all of a sudden this wonderful thing happens
He begins to show how He wants it done and I only share with others what He shows me
just to help anyone along the way , when it happens to them they will know what is going on in them too , many have helped me along the way , we are to love one anoher and help one another the same way He[The Lord ] helps us

Well I personally struggle with going back to the old law and death , because I dont Love fully yet as I ought
my dessire is to overcome death in Life and the Lord is showing me that its done in LOVE ONLY and not other way , Jesus is the manisfestaion of the Love of God to us , to be Lke Him I have to Love just like Him and forgive Like Him and thats when the old man of sin revives in me that has to be put up on that cross again and again , must die but does not want to over and over again !!
my old man of sin is not worthy of CHRIST , this is why we must become new and are made new by His Spirit and truth its a painful death that old man is , a constant battle even whew!
Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me,
