Universalism as humbling

With Eternal Torment or Annihilation, there is still this strict line labeling a person as good or bad as a final announcement on their character, and are hence eternally punished for their sins.  Now with Eternal Punishment, I have seen some extreme forms of arrogance amongst those who believe in Eternal Punishment and at the same time love their god.  Those who believe ET, and fear God need to be liberated from this horrible doctrine and learn the truth.  Many reports have stated that those who live in the fear of ET are much more open to accepting UR than those who believe and are okay with ET.  However from what I have seen with ET believers who are okay with this idea with hundreds of people suffering forever seem the most opposed to UR.  However many who sincerely believe and embrace that doctrine seem to be the most prideful.  I have seen the way they downtalk people who dont believe as them, make hateful statements, perform acts of hate, but then cannot take it when others oppose them.  But I can see why they have this smugness.  They believe they are going to one day recieve eternal wonderful blessings, while others are doomed to a horrible curse forever.  Annihilation is sort of the same.  Only they believe that they will recieve wonderful blessings, while others will simply cease to exist.  So there does seem to be a bit of arrogance in such churches like Jehovahs Witnesses and SDA.  But not in the horrible way I have seen it amongst sincere ET believers.  With the Calvinist school of thought, the pride stems from this belief that God simply favored them above others, and are especially made to live forever while the rest are outside of Gods favor are doomed to suffer forever or cease to exist.  Arminianism poses another problem.  Everyone is in Gods favor, but some will not gain everlasting blessings, or suffer forever because they did not make that right decision, or made some wrong decision.  So essentially with the Arminian camp, there is always this sense of pride that they avoided sins, went to church every sunday, accepted the right creed, or participated in the correct rituals, while others did not.  So essentially there is that idea that they earned their eternal reward while the rest deserve to be eternally tortured.  However with Universal Salvation, there is the assurance that God loves all people, and doesnt play favorites, and that Salvation is not something earned because of something you did, but solely from grace.  So no boasts about being favored or more righteous.  I honestly believe that pride is what makes it so difficult for people to accept UR.  The pride of believing your opinions are the correct ones, the pride of recieving blessings others did not.  The pride of claiming such a special form of righteousness.  And I have seen the unchristian behavior of people who are okay with Hell.  Many times they preach in such a degrading way of berating others, scoldings, namecalling, and just downright nastiness.  And UR seems to bring out the worst in the sincere ET believers.  They get downright hostile at the whole idea that the whole world will recieve salvation.  Just check out Youtube Universalist videos, ET believers seem to be the most downright hostile.  With UR, everyone recieves blessing, and are just as loved by God, so there is no excuse for pride, hate, self righteousnes, violence or biggotry.
