I've been thinking about a book written by a very dear brother in Christ "Seated In Heavenly Places" (1980 -- I was the typist for sorting out his very, very rough draft!!!) -- and was reminded again and again of the "prepositional" relationship we have in, with, by, through Christ -- all because of His finished work on the cross. I also have been listening to a few songs by jabcat and one that I really appreciate has the words... "born with an empty hole in our heart... a God-shaped hole...only Jesus can fill..."
Earlier this afternoon I actually sorted, discarded, organized a few zillion pages of printed matter... and was so encouraged by an article "In Christ Jesus" based on the book of Ephesians. A friend helped me with my internet services lack and so I have a few minutes to share some of the wonderful thoughts from the article...
"In this epistle we are declared to be, in Christ , chosen, predestinated to the adoption of children, accepted; to have redemption and forgiveness, to be quickened or made alive, raised, seated in the heavenlies; to have been sealed and to have obtained an inheritance; these are the ten present blessings, and the one, yet future, is that in Him we are to be gathered together in one, with all saints, at His coming."
"...unity in Christ so prominent in this epistle... figures used to express that unity
1. The body 1;22-23; 2:16; 4:12-16
2. God's workmanship 2:10
3. commonwealth 2:12 ... a community in which we are citizens, introduced into it by the blood 2:19
4. temple with the middle wall of partition broken down 2:14 He is our peace
5. one new man 2:15 a remarkable expression, nowhere else used
6. one household of God 2:19
7. one building - one temple 2:20, 22 (one habitation of God through the Spirit)
8. fellow heirs 3:6 co-heirs of one inheritance
9. family 3:15
10. one body and one Spirit 4:4 one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father
11. bride or wife 5:22-23
12. full armor 6:10 ff
Unity in Christ/Led by the Spirit
1:13 The Holy Spirit of promise whereby we are sealed
1:17 Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him
1:19-20 The Spirit of power who wrought in Christ and raised Him from the dead
2:18 The Spirit by whom we have access to the Father
2:22 The Spirit of inhabitation whereby God dwells in us
3:16 The Spirit of strength and might in the inner man
4:4 The Spirit of unity in the body
5:18 The Spirit of fullness making all our life spiritual
there are more, but I'm running out of time. I may be able to check back later tomorrow. May His peace, joy, light, love reign in your hearts and minds. Anna

Beautiful
Amen ! Beautiful :angel5: :ty:
Thank you eaglesway and rosered: I've been doing some reviewing of the meaning of the word "beauty" and smiled as I read your replies...
=================
among my notes: 11 Chron 20:21 " ...He appointed singers unto the Lord, and that they should praise the beauty of holiness..."
To demonstrate the beauty of holiness, here is what they actually sang:
"...Praise the LORD, for His mercy endureth forever."
The holiness of God actually overflows with kindness, compassion, love, gentleness, and mercy! We learn this from the pages of the Scriptures themselves. We see this clearly within the context of our passage. God's holiness is associated with divine mercy.
....
In closing, we will recall that God's holiness is predominantly connected with His Saviorhood! He is the compassionate and loving Savior, because of His holiness...not in spite of it!
=======================
"God's holiness is associated with divine mercy."
"God's holiness is associated with divine mercy."
I think that is so true (and like it so much) I had to restrain myself from pasting it a 3rd time! (But :laughing7:)
"God's holiness" -- "is associated with divine mercy."
(If "the elect" did nothing to be 'elected' why would He have to torture others in order to get them to believe and repent? Can anything prevent His Will?)
Wow ! Thank you Anna and Marie !
You reminded me of a very favorite 2 short Psalms 29 and 93!!, I love and studied
Helped me learn about the waters being VOICES ! the Above and Below waters / voices
learning to discern HIS VOICE in the many voices we all hear !! I was so Thankful for hearing the Spirit teach me what to listen for HIS VOICE and the simple child like praise that welled up within me at that time , the LIVING WATERS are the voices of the many whom have the Spirit of GOD and Christ union coming out of His belly [ judgments of divine mercy flows with healing to the broken hearted !!
I remember being ill and the only consolation was in the Psalms , the Spirit took me there to be healed , one of the very best times in life , to come up from the dead from drowning of the floods /voices of this world !!
Psa 93:1 ¶ The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
Psa 93:2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
Psa 93:3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
Psa 93:4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, [yea, than] the mighty waves of the sea.
Psa 93:5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
Psa 29:1 ¶ [[A Psalm of David.]] Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
Psa 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
Psa 29:4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
Psa 29:5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
Psa 29:6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
Psa 29:7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
Psa 29:8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
Psa 29:9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
Psa 29:10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
Psa 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
Eze 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
Yes, mercy triumphs over judgment !!A great Victory found in Jesus Christ and hearing His voice :HeartThrob:

Proverbs 25:25
Good News from a distant land is like cold water to a parched throat/weary person.Rosered and Marie, thank you so much... you always bring "cold water" AND "Good News" to this forum.
Rosered, like you, I have been wearied, really wearied with all the NOISE from man on every level: religious, political, social, economical, etc. etc. I have printed in huge bold letters on a large cardboard... need a constant reminder that
The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Ps 93:4I'm also reminded of
Ps 89:1-52
v 9 You rule the raging sea: when its waves surge, You still them. and, of course,
Mark 4:36-41
v 39 ... Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Amen GOD bless you Sista Anna ! may we all be comforted and be at peace with His Spirit speaking to us weary travelers and travailers !!
Psalms 89.. Thanks for the reminder , going to read it now :gimmefive: I do feel His presence today after such a long wait ! needed and appreciated !!You rule the oceans.
You subdue their storm-tossed waves.
10 You crushed the great sea monster.
You scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11 The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours;
everything in the world is yours—you created it all.
12 You created north and south.
Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon praise your name.
13 Powerful is your arm!
Strong is your hand!
Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne.
Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants.
15 Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship,
for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
16 They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation.
They exult in your righteousness.
17 You are their glorious strength.
It pleases you to make us strong.
18 Yes, our protection comes from the Lord,
and he, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our king.
19 Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people.
You said, "I have raised up a warrior.
I have selected him from the common people to be king.
20 I have found my servant David.
I have anointed him with my holy oil.
21 I will steady him with my hand;
with my powerful arm I will make him strong.
22 His enemies will not defeat him,
nor will the wicked overpower him.
23 I will beat down his adversaries before him
and destroy those who hate him.
24 My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him,
and by my authority he will grow in power.
25 I will extend his rule over the sea,
his dominion over the rivers.
26 And he will call out to me, 'You are my Father,
my God, and the Rock of my salvation.'
27 I will make him my firstborn son,
the mightiest king on earth.
28 I will love him and be kind to him forever;
my covenant with him will never end.
29 I will preserve an heir for him;
his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.
30 But if his descendants forsake my instructions
and fail to obey my regulations,
31 if they do not obey my decrees
and fail to keep my commands,
32 then I will punish their sin with the rod,
and their disobedience with beating.
33 But I will never stop loving him
nor fail to keep my promise to him.
34 No, I will not break my covenant;
I will not take back a single word I said.
35 I have sworn an oath to David,
and in my holiness I cannot lie:
36 His dynasty will go on forever;
his kingdom will endure as the sun.
37 It will be as eternal as the moon,
my faithful witness in the sky!"
I thank God for his faithfulness !!
