I sometimes wonder if the victory of God through Christ is understood very well at all among His people. I say this because, even as we have all had to unlearn much carnal thought as we struggle imposing temporal limits on spiritual realties, so it can be harder to perceive total triumph in its true spiritual reality.
Here is an example of what I mean: On earth, every victory we have ever seen is partial, pyrrhic, or temporary. Every war leads to more war, and even a war against a great evil like World War Two does not prevent the onward march of man's carnal nature, and the same tides of evil still rise in seemingly endless cycles.
Another good earthly example is in sports, where teams win their 'ultimate triumph' at the end of the season, but with nothing lasting achieved, must start the same cycle again after a short rest. There is the sense of anticlimax, as the very moment of overcoming is met by the onrushing inevitability of starting again.
With these temporal examples, I sometimes wonder if the subconscious of the believer is a little conditioned to see victory in these earthly terms, and therefore be hindered from the revelation of what the total triumph of Christ means. For if every believer understood what true, everlasting triumph entails, how could any thought of eternal torment exist even for a moment?
For indeed, as the passage above says, Death is "swallowed up" in victory. God's victory in Christ is so complete, that the dread law of sin and death has no sting, has no power, and has no place to stand against the mighty waves of Christ's overarching triumph!

...I have been pondering this post..and it has come to my mind that the kingdom of darkness has it's own agenda in obscuring His
total victory over all powers and principalities. The religious leaders in high positions[pharisees/sadducees etc] were more concerned
with losing their positions..it seems. the parable of the vineyard and it's keepers..the arrival the heir of all....the killing of him to
remain in their positions[religion/seats of honour]
I was in a very religious legal organization..that inserted itself between God and men..and denied that Jesus was the mediator for
all men and God. They even went so far as to brazenly say....that salvation of men only came through their organization.
Any religious body/elect needs to be aware of this.......
there is a function of the elect...to proclaim the goodnews of the salvation of all men. To share and love each other...and the
Holy spirit in the midst of the believers to build up the body of faith in love. But imo we should never think that God's ability to deliver
and save all men..is somehow dependant upon us..our ministry etc. For what is impossible with men..is possible with God.

imo this scripture is speaking of the resurrection of the dead in Christ..and the New Jerusalem coming down.............and shows
that doctrines pertaining unto the elect in this matter..as to their positions regarding this is mute. For when the glory of the Lord
fills the temple no man can enter/or minister in the matter. It is enough that we share in a small way in these things by His
Holy spirit whatever portion He allows us to see and partake in.

Seems the victory is not preached at all, since there are so many side effects which seem to over-ride the depth of what Christ achieved.
True victory brings true equality.
Romans 11;32 " For God has consigned all to disobedience so that He can show mercy to all."
1 Cor 15;10 " Yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me."
1 Cor 15;23 " But each in his own order."
Romans 9;16 " Therefore it does not depend on human desire or effort, but in God's mercy."
For me taking up the cross daily is recognition of Christ's work, which is the true victory, covers everything about salvation.
There is no failure, no depression about mistakes I made and make, the shield of Christ's faith which protects from the catastrophe of every single law I have broken. Still correction, just not eternal condemnation.
Man attempts to say we are equal, or holy, just the phrase, " I am a little holier that thou!' is the hypocrisy of religions/flesh.
Christ being the ONE source of life rules out those variations in value, whilst maintaining the solidarity of position.
Ergo, one body with many parts, which cannot say to any other part, "I don't need you.'

Spiritually speaking, the spirit of Jezebel sits upon the heads of men (7 mountains = all flesh) ruling over them and usurping the place of the Holy Ghost tongues until it comes (her end is to be destroyed with fire) and begins to consume her and all her flesh building (mountains) and exalting works. I've been shown her, and she/it was naked, probably 600 pounds and the uncleanness of the thing made me sick at my stomach, literally.
She is what keeps men from having a personal relationship with Him, positioning herself in fornication with men's minds, a false covering, creating monstrous living creatures out of the evil imaginations of men's minds. And those "living creatures" include many membered bodies trying to claim His name without His nature.
BUT; her kingdom is shortly to be destroyed with the brightness of His coming (clear sin free mind of Christ) and the words out of His mouth (of His true body where He will place His head, finally). This is what I see true victory as being, the union of the Head with the body, a body incapable of expressing or creating anything but the image and likeness of the Father himself, just like the singular pattern Son did. Who shall declare (means to show openly/unveiled) His generation (Seed reproduced), spirit, soul and body no longer being hijacked by the wicked one to create mingled seed? Some will because He has declared it. And I believe it is coming soon, glory to God.....blessings....
