Early Church Universalists believed that 1 Peter taught that Christ descended to hell and preached the Gospel to both the Old Testament rightous and the wicked dead such as the contemporaries of Noah. http://www.tentmaker.org/books/Prevailing.html (http://www.tentmaker.org/books/Prevailing.html)

How much does this Biblical view influence modern day Christian Universalists?

Update
I'm interested in comments about any reasons for choices of "no" and "undecided". For example, somebody might choose "no" because they're not a universalist. Or somebody might choose "no" because they don't believe in a temporary hell.

All I care about is that it's thoroughly Biblical, even if some want to throw around different definitions of what that means, based upon their own understandings of the Gospel and it's usage of God's carefully chosen Words.
