Around 7 years ago i was driving on the freeway to a "church" meeting with family. I was an annihilationist at the time but was troubled over this as it didn't seem perishing was the best outcome for everyone. As i was meditating on this I started thinking how with God all things are possible, and how Jesus says "if we ask anything according to his will it will be done for us", and how God is not willing that any will perish but that all will come to a knowledge of the truth, so I prayed along these lines. Lord I know that with you anything is possible, and it is your will that all men will be saved, so even though i know scripture seems to indicate the lost get destroyed, yet you give these other promises so i ask for a change and that all will be saved as per your will. Thank you Dada.

Well imeadiately i prayed i felt a strong, almost warlike spuritual presence, a piece of my car air con dropped off and got stuck under my peddles as i was doing a 100km/h and it seemed for a monent me and family were gonna come to a sticky end!

Fortunately was able to regain control of car, but the timing and everything made me feel i was onto something, and it was around this time i discovered tentmaker site, and found God had answered my prayer long before I asked, I was not nicer than God afterall :)

 :HeartThrob:   :dsunny:  Great testimony Simmo !

Amen , with  God all things are possible   :cloud9:
  I believe everything in this life will prove that to us  , ''When every knee bows and every tongue confesses and give praise to God.'" and acknowledge Him , all will be humbled  each  in their own order !!   I am certain  of this  truth ....  Romans 14

I recall being in a hopeless  situation  when our daughter was born  afflicted  , as the doctors gave us no hope .
But that was the  moment when  we bowed our knees to the Lord Jesus Christ  and have been there every since  to praise His holy name ...  she still lives  many years later , It is awesome what God can do  when mankind has no clue  what to do ...
I am in AWE OF GOD forever more !!
Thanks for the encouraging  testimony !! :gimmefive:
Jesus is the reward  !!

It was these words that helped me to even consider the idea of UR, if we do not even consider the possibility that all will be reconciled to God ... we cannot move forward into it

Yes, UR is a foreign land, a darkness we are brought into, but we walk by faith not by sight .... we no longer have to see to believe, we believe to see

blessings to all

I agree as well. I have really been blessed here by Rick, among the others here. After reading this, Matthew 13:45-46 popped in my mind about the pearls:

45`Again, the reign of the heavens is like to a man, a merchant, seeking goodly pearls,

46who having found one pearl of great price, having gone away, hath sold all, as much as he had, and bought it.

I also think this is like the Gospel. The message seems simple, it's message will be understood by few, but all will be blessed by iteventually, and understand what it means. It's purpose will be unveiled and understood better the more it is examined.

At least, that's what I think it relates to.

Blessings...

I havn't come across this translation before,

"the reign of the heavens" instead of "the  kingdom of heaven"

... But i like. Reminds me of

His name shall be "God with us, prince of peace, mighty ruler, and of the increase of his goverment (of peace) there shall be no end"

Reign of heaven
Increase of goverment of peace

All good stuff :)

Agreed, Simmo. I liked your testimony as well. I find it amazing the way God changes our lives in the most unexpected ways. Even the reflection of past events can bring greater meaning and understanding in our experiences. Sort of like how I found this site :thumbsup:

I bet you're greatful that you are still with us now! I bet going 100km/h can be a really scary experience.

Oh, and don't forget, that Love Wins(Your quote!) and that Love Never Fails. I came across this(1 Cor. 13) the other day, and its probably has been one of my favourite passages. I even have a better understanding of it now than beforehand. I am using the YLT here. I would like to use the Concordant, but I have no access to it in this Bible app I use mostly, and have no paper copy of it.

1If with the tongues of men and of messengers I speak, and have not love, I have become brass sounding, or a cymbal tinkling;

2and if I have prophecy, and know all the secrets, and all the knowledge, and if I have all the faith, so as to remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing;

3and if I give away to feed others all my goods, and if I give up my body that I may be burned, and have not love, I am profited nothing.

4The love is long-suffering, it is kind, the love doth not envy, the love doth not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,

5doth not act unseemly, doth not seek its own things, is not provoked, doth not impute evil,
6rejoiceth not over the unrighteousness, and rejoiceth with the truth;

7all things it beareth, all it believeth, all it hopeth, all it endureth.

8The love doth never fail; and whether [there be] prophecies, they shall become useless; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall become useless;

9for in part we know, and in part we prophecy;

10and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part shall become useless.

11When I was a babe, as a babe I was speaking, as a babe I was thinking, as a babe I was reasoning, and when I have become a man, I have made useless the things of the babe;

12for we see now through a mirror obscurely, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I shall fully know, as also I was known;

13and now there doth remain faith, hope, love--these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.

Line 10 also reminds me of when all authority and power shall become useless, and all things are delivered to the Father once it is delivered up by Christ. Only then will everything be made perfect, and the veil will be removed, that all creation groans for, so that we may finally see Him face to face. As bright as light, and as clear as day. For things as of now change, but that which is perfect never changes, for be still and know that He is God and He is with us.

1 Cor. 15 24-28:

24then--the end, when he may deliver up the reign to God, even the Father, when he may have made useless all rule, and all authority and power--

25for it behoveth him to reign till he may have put all the enemies under his feet--

26the last enemy is done away--death;

27for all things He did put under his feet, and, when one may say that all things have been subjected, [it is] evident that He is excepted who did subject the all things to him,

28and when the all things may be subjected to him, then the Son also himself shall be subject to Him, who did subject to him the all things, that God may be the all in all.

Well, thanks for the appreciation, Pat. I really appreciate it. I do feel I have a long way to go though in some areas of my life, and Bible studying is one of them. Strangely, I don't really like to get much attention when doing things for other people. I used to for the most part, but I try to stay as humble as I can. I'm not perfect though, and I admittingly feel a bit jealous of others who have a greater understanding than I do.

I try to lean on God's understanding, and not of my own. I feel at some points, though, that I lack self confidence and that it would be better for me to not say anything than to speak and face rejection. Or, that I say something someone does not like, and then be ignored out of misunderstanding. But hey, this thread is about Simmo, and not me.

I strive to reach the understanding of someone like jugghead. Or rosered. Or marie glen, and other people on here. They may be far older and wiser, but I hope to achieve knowledge and wisdom through humility, faith, hope, and love. But, love most importantly.

I do like reading about others though, like yours. Seeing how much a person grows in the Lord shows me how God really is involved in our lives, and changes them for the better.

Oh, and lastly, you can call me Connor. Or ML if you want. I think writing a long username at times can get a bit tedious.

I cannot help but be blessed either. Maybe others should take note from us? :wink3:

Hey Rose, this just occurred to me. I was thinking about Micah's statement that you mentioned, that "He is risen."

It just occurred to me that, when the sun  :dsunny: is shining, even in night, it is God's way of saying "Even in the darkest of days, and coldest of nights, that I am with you?" And, when the veil(moon) is removed, we may finally see Him face to face, and His Light and Love is all that remains?

  Exactly  Conner  :thumbsup:  Lovely thoughts !  you reminded me of the psalms 19

  :HeartThrob:

Psalms 19 The Works and the Word of God.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
19 The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
2 Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.
In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned;
In keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.
13 Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins;
Let them not rule over me;
Then I will be blameless,
And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.

Reading that also reminded me of Hebrews 4. I have a statue of Hebrews 4:12 and Isaiah 60:31. I'll give you links where you can find them if you're interested.

11Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

12For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

13And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
