By UR standards/definitions where are the unsaved dead right now? Asleep in Sheol awaiting the White Throne judgment?
Thanks,
Brian
Hi Brian,
I feel like I'm one of the few posting on here these days. But I'll try to answer you.
They are d-e-a-d.
Sheol is just another name for the grave or tomb as the case may be. The LXX translated the Hebrew
Sheol into [H]adou or [H]ade from which we get [H]ades.
All mankind go to the same place: the grave which could also be a watery grave for those who die at sea.
Ecc 9:3 This is the evil in all that is done under the sun:
That one destiny is for all; Moreover the heart of the sons of humanity is full of evil, And ravings are in their heart throughout their life, Yet after it, they are joined to the dead."
The dead know nothing:
Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die, But the dead know nothing whatsoever; There is no further hire for them; Indeed remembrance of them is forgotten."
Ecc 9:10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your vigor, For there is no doing or devising or knowledge or wisdom In the unseen [Hades] where you are going."
It seems to me that these people who were not chosen to be believing are awaiting the Great White Throne judging in which their lives will finally be set straight.
Hi lamentations,
Here is a link to a great article. I am not saying it is 100% true, but right now I cannot see much of anything I really disagree with, mainly I love the scriptures used in this article so I though it would be appropriate for the rare occasions when I post a web link of teaching.

Paul, that article mentions Lazarus. I was just thinking what a miracle that was. Christ not only brought Lazarus back to life after being dead so long that he stank, but He also gave Lazarus back his whole memory. Had doctors been able to bring him back to life he would not have much of a functioning brain.
I believe that every word we say, every act we do is all stored by God via His spirit which pervades all. It must be that that repository was accessed and all the information concerning Lazarus was put back into his brain.
At least that is what I think. I could be wrong.

I am glad Tony answered you Bro , good verses in Ecc ..
I am not one that can explain well anything .. :msealed:
but I was wondering if you meant the spiritually dead or the physically/literal dead ?
In my own words I will try to explain my thoughts on both ....
spirits / breaths are what give us being and that goes back to God who gave it
and the dust /our flesh is just a clay pot/vessel to contain whats in side that rots back into the ground
but the souls are that part that makes us all different /same
and many of them souls end up under the altar of God [slain for their testimony ] and are resting waiting on the completeness of GODS WORK
HIM BEING ALL IN ALL .. the Work began at the Cross of Jesus Christ to me [head in Place ] and the Body of Christ coming together
them souls that do not end there I am not sure of ?, they may very well be in a grave [ void] or sea watery grave /hell awaiting Judgment /mercy
I know my brother was 20 when he died and was not given the time I was to change by the Lord to know the things God has given
but I know God is fair and merciful
can you hold to account anyone who does not know better ? I dont think so
can you judge a blind man for being blind still if the Lord does not heal the blindness ? some are here for just a very short while/ season they are for us to learn from and take example of .
Life is a most precious thing /valued of God and man has little concept of in carnal process of thinking , when I was young I was very carnal / and it was a dark empty place inside that nothing in this world could fill and satisfy , though I tried in vain over and over to fill the empty / dark and sad /lonely place
the gift of Life /Himself given of the Lord to in His awesome Wisdom to bring in the sons of glory to Himself .. we are here for a reason or we would also die without knowing anything of God and His ways
so in that I so trust Gods will / desire is perfect in every way
Peace in Christ .. rose

rosered, What amazes me is not that Lazarus was Christ's own personal close friend. What amazes me is that we believers are closer to Christ than a friend. We have the "in Christ" position and are said to be members of His body in which He is the head.
Next time a believer thinks they are worthless, remember that Christ is not worthless and therefore neither is the believer!
Well, anyway, that is my 2 cents worth of positive reinforcement for the day! LOL!
Thanks Bro lol...........I needed to hear that positive reinforcment today ... :Sparkletooth: made my Day
HIS peace to you and yours
