Title: seeing through a glass darkly
Post by: anna274 on June 19, 2012, 07:44:12 PM
Well, I did have a plan... so much of what Eaglesway shared regarding POV's on the Snippet thread  made me really think much more positively about sharing POV's, opinions, etc... I scribbled pages and pages of stuff ...

but I was reminded of  Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way, but the LORD directeth his steps.

The word BREVITY  loomed in front of my eyes....

Briefly, then...
I'm learning to read all current POV's with the idea that there is an "in part" that the Lord wishes me to SEE.

In the past (long ago) in my reading and studying of  POV's, for instance--no matter how dark were the Dark Ages,  Augustine's philosophical statement "Our hearts will be restless until we rest in God." is the "in part" that I had chosen to remember/ponder... I actually had studied in depth, Augustine's City of God, Confessions, etc. at a Christian Liberal Arts College--very heavy on philosophy.

Thanks Eagleway.  God bless, anna

Ahhhh, the beauty of BREVITY.......

So precious.

When I asked God for direction many ears ago I was looking for a plan that would lead to certain goals I had in mind.

Instead He said to me,

Be Still and Know That I AM GOD.

I am Still trying to get it, instead of just being still and beholding, waiting upon the Lord

But at least now I 'hear' it :o)

Seeing through a glass darkly is grace.

It's OK. I don't know for sure, this is what I think, this is what I think I kno, this is what I see in the word, what I believe the spirit has revealed.......

We know not yet what we shall be, but we kno that when He appears we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is.

John didnt kno.

Paul didnt kno either....."If any man thinks he knows anything He knows not yet as He ought to kno...."

Who has known the mind of the Lord and who has been His counselor.

But as you shared, we can reap from one another IN PARTS....... speaking the truth in love, edifying one another., growing up in all things into the Head.......until we all attain to the unity of the faith, unto a mature man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ......then we shall no longer be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine and by craftiness and deceitful scheming.

We will be Beholding Him, STILL, at rest, waiting, watching, worshiping and walking in the Spirit.

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
(Act 4:31-35)

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
(Rev 8:3-5)

"We(humans) make our plans, and God laughs."

How's that for brevity? (:-)
