IMO that chasm represents the gap between flesh and spirit.
Man can't cross that gap.
Some will see the gap when resurrected.
No man can cross that gap by their own works.
Mankind will not understand this until Jesus Christ shows them.
This may seem unfair- but, for me, emphasises that each person will be shown the truth at an arranged time, just like sitting in a room waiting to see the doctor. In that waiting room everyone has their own questions and problems. They compare themselves with others, yet wonder what they are going to have to do to get healthy. Only when they have seen the doctor themselves will they find out the truth about their life.
The Fact that God knows everything about us and has cleared the debt and wiped away our mistakes and sin- and this has been in action and arranged BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN- makes sense Only when Jesus points this out to us.
His love never fails.
Nothing can keep us from the love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
That list in Romans 8: 38,39 is comprehensive.
Hell is a major lie about life after death.
Hell is referring originally as to being interred, buried.
