question about death

if Jesus died and forgave all sins past, present and future so that people can enter eternal life , why do people still have to die?  if their sins are not seen by God anymore, why do people still die?

Death is part of the curse, even Jesus had to die

When you drive to work this morning, and you are in your car...do you become your car?  Are you the automobile?  If the car breaks down and no longer drives, does that mean you are broken down?  In the same way, the body is cursed, ages and dies.  But, you are not your body...it is merely a vehicle for your spirit.  Can death touch the spirit of a believer and follower of Christ?

Hebrews 9

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

canadianicon25, you said "why do people still die". The scripture says because it is appointed unto men to die once. We all must die once then some will die again in the second death in the lake of testing.

We interpret the "lake of fire" as an instrument of purification/refinement that will bring all people into a relationship with God. The word for "torment" in Revelation 14:10 is the Greek "basanizo" which has a primary meaning of testing with a touchstone. The lake of fire is not only for torment but for "testing": the analogy is in testing metal with a touchstone to make sure it is pure.

That is more or less what I think too.  I think the lake of fire is a place where people have to face themselves and the truth and will repent as a result of that.  When they do and seek forgiveness, it will be there and so will Christ.

So when past, present and future sins are forgiven that doesn't include a physical death it relates more to what is seen by God when looking at a person at judgement?

When I believed in ED, I always did think it was unfair to have the chance to "choose to be saved" only in this short lifetime, here on earth while we are yet imperfect and make stupid mistakes.  Then that's it.  No second chance.  :sigh: What about those who never heard of Jesus.  How unfair.  People would just say, "He's sovereign God, he does not have to be fair."   :flamebreath:
