I was looking at some of the hellfire crowd last night and I noticed that many of them have a grievous spirit and seem to want hell to be real.
Today, I was thinking about the valley of Hinnom (Gehenna) and how God revealing His true nature was incensed at those who were sacrificing their children to Molech, and I realized that the hellfire crowd are worshippers of Molech also.
And they built the high places of Baal, which [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. .Jer 32>35
The only hell there is is to listen to people like these.

Jock, I must indulge here in one of my standard rants. Have you ever noticed that most Bibles render the name of God (YHWH) as LORD, a fairly generic term? On the other hand, all the pagan gods get their names transliterated, while the Real God, Who said not to even say their names, gets short shrift. I have hit on this devise to deal with it: [name of pagan deity deleted by command of God]. We could just shorten it to [NOPDDBCOG]. I do it in obedience of and respect for the Real God, who loves and saves us.
As to the main point in your post, I agree. The Damnationists don't want their own sons and daughters to pass into the fires of Hell to Satan, but they think the bulk of humanity will go that route. Perhaps the worst part is that they are smug about it, while if were true and they were really good Christians, they would be grieved for it. :doh:

If anyone believes that God hates sinners and will burn them forever, be sure to know that this one has a very limited understanding of LOVE i.e God and has rather chosen to create an "imperfect" god perfectly in their own image. Imperfect, because their god, only loves the ones that love him and hates everyone else. As Jesus asked: What reward is there in that?
Mat 5:46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
Mat 5:47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
Mat 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
