Just ran across a couple of verses I read a while back, found in the "The Message" version of the Bible:
Deut. 10:14-18—"Look around you: Everything you see is GOD's—the heavens above and beyond, the Earth, and everything on it. But it was your ancestors who GOD fell in love with; he picked their children—that's you!—out of all the other peoples. That's where we are right now. So cut away the thick calluses from your heart and stop being so willfully hardheaded. GOD, your God, is the God of all gods, he's the Master of all masters, a God immense and powerful and awesome. He doesn't play favorites, takes no bribes, makes sure orphans and widows are treated fairly, takes loving care of foreigners by seeing that they get food and clothing."
Romans 5:18-19---"Here it is in a nutshell: Just as one person did it wrong and got us in all this trouble with sin and death, another person did it right and got us out of it. But more than just getting us out of trouble, he got us into life! One man said no to God and put many people in the wrong; one man said yes to God and put many in the right."

Ya know, I read verses like these and tell myself, "God has done something wonderous here. And yet we just don't want to believe it!" Christendom talks so much about the world steeped in sin. But these verses tell me that we (the whole world) are no longer under Adam, but under Christ. In fact, in another place it is written that the ONLY foundation that is laid is Christ. No choices, no "free will," no condemnation!
