Galatians 3:8
"And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed (Gen. 12:3)."
What "is" the Gospel? The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus the Christ? According to Paul the Gospel was preached to Abraham saying ... "in you all the nations shall be blessed." Perhaps we should say the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is "how" the Gospel was accomplished?
A little latter in Genesis chapter 15:1 God declares: "After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."
I absolutely love this verse. It so resonates with the declaration that God has reconciled all things to Himself and God will be all in all. HE IS OUR REWARD ... (Numbers 18:20).
Preaching the Gospel is fulfilling our God given ministry of reconciliation. Letting people know that through the cross God has made His peace with all men. All that needs to be done is rest in the work of Jesus and stop trying to do for themselves what has already been done for them.
I don't know, this probably comes across a little scatterbrained and fragmented but I hope you get my heart.

He become the Lord of both the dead and living to reconcile back to God all things that means everything till God be all and all LIVING IN AND THOUGH AND BY AND FOR HIM OUR VICTORY and exceedingly great reward ..
IN CHRIST all things are made new .and to the glory of the Father .

Thanks for your reply Rosered. It's funny, I used to read that verse in Gal. 3:8 and blew right past it. I always thought, of course, Abram believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. This last time reading through Galatians I was just stopped cold in my tracks.
I wondered, how is "in thee all the nations of the earth will be blessed" the Gospel? How would Abraham understand it to be the Gospel when there is no mention of forgiven sin, death or resurrection? I just wanted to see if there was room for the distinction between "how" The Gospel was procured (death burial and resurrection of The Christ) and the effect/result of His actions.
I know they are indelibly linked the one with the other, yet I see a difference between the means and the scope of what the means accomplished. He alone supplied the means and then involved us, His elect in this age, to participate in spreading The Gospel, via the ministry of reconciliation, the vast scope of what was accomplished for us.

I love it when that happens !!! , it is like the Spirit quickens this Word in you , it does make us desire to hunger and thirst for more of Him .
I always loved how the nations would be blessed by God and it is a promise of faith that seed would cause it
Jesus Christ is that reward seed /Word planted ..
the seed of faith in the gospel in Luke 8 11 The Parable of the Sower
...10He replied, "The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, 'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.' 11Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12The seeds along the path are those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved....
Later, Jesus explains to his disciples that the seed represents the Gospel, the sower represents anyone who proclaims it, and the various soils represent people's responses to it (the first three representing rejection while the last one represents acceptance).
What made me go deeper was how it was both kinds of faith as nations , sands of the sea shore , seeing them as the parable of those whom build on the sand
and the stars of heaven , those in the darkness with the Light of Christ Holy Spirit anointing the Word in them to spread the good news of the gospel , and bear fruit for many generations.
I am not a good writer at all , hope this makes some sense lol .... but you are seeking and knocking and finding
